Mineral Makeup is a good choice because it typically contains only a handful of ingredients - primarily mineral pigments (iron oxides). As a result, there are fewer ingredients that could potentially clog pores and irritate sensitive skin. Also, look for brands that do not contain parabens (propylparaben, methylparaben, and butylparaben), petrochemicals (butylene glycol and propylene glycol), fragrances, talc, mineral oil, and FD&C and D&C colors. These ingredients have been found to be irritating to some skin types.

True Mineral Makeup is the best choice for sensitive skin. The ingredient list should include: mica titanium dioxide zinc oxide iron oxides ...and very little else. Avoid all "mineral makeup" that uses: bismuth oxychloride talc magnesium stearate boron nitride Less is more when it comes to mineral makeup ingredient lists.

Look for natural products that don't contain harsh chemicals. Use only cleansers that are gentle and made for your skin type. Avoid washing the skin too frequently, which can cause irritation.

Mineral makeup is becoming more popular as more women learn about safe cosmetics and about the importance of using non toxic products on their skin. Since our bodies absorb anything we apply to our bodies or our face, it is wise to make safer choices.
