Ok so if you have a standard tummy tuck with no lipo, will any fat be removed? Like say is your subcutaneous fat attached to thr skin when it is removed? I know visceral fat is under the abdominal wall but if youre not getting lipo will you be losing subcutaneous fat with a standard tuck. Hope that makes sense...lol

Answer: Fat removal From your photo it appears you are a great candidate for the tummy tuck. It will remove the fat that is attached to the skin that is removed. It will also repair abdominal wall laxity. Many patients opt to add liposuction to the surgery to address the hip/flank area to enhance the results from the tummy tuck.

Answer: Very little fat if any would be removed without liposuction During a tummy tuck procedure, the skin and fat at the lower portion of your abdomen will be removed. The remaining upper portion of skin and fat is stretched down to her bikini line, and a new place for your belly button is made. Without liposuction, thickness of this upper portion of skin is not significantly changed. This is because the blood supply to that skin runs partially through this fatty layer. Significant removal of this fat would put a patient at risk for l wound healing problems. One done in combination with liposuction, the fat is removed in a safer way because the blood supply is better maintained.
