Hello, My main goal is to tighten and flatten my abdomen to achieve a natural athletic look. Almost like I did not have surgery ;) I also want to remove very little skin excess under the belly button. It’s not that much. I’ve done a lot of research and I’m usually directed to a full tummy tuck, but the scar turns me off. What about having a hybrid with a small incision horizontally and vertically. Would you recommend this for my body profile? If yes/no why? Thank you in advance

Answer: Would you suggest a Hybrid tummy tuck for me? Hello @rettedgui, thank you for your question. You may consider a mini tummy tuck, which involves a smaller incision than the abdominoplasty, about the size of a cesarean section, with an extended muscle plication. In other words, complete complete muscle plication. This helps the muscle to be contracted and tightened. You might also consider liposuction on the sides of the abdomen to make the skin look better. It is important that you have a consultation with a board certified specialist to determine a surgical plan according to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Modified Abdominoplasty Based on your photos, your abdomen would get a nice improvement from liposuction of the region followed by excision of lower abdominal skin only, aka ‘mini tummy tuck’. The bellybutton would not have an incision at round it because no skin is being recruited from the upper abdomen. A full examination would be required to confirm this recommendation.
