I am 29F 4'11 currently at 182lbs BMI is at 36.9. I am in the process of losing weight but after having 5 pregnancies with 3 full term, I have a lot of loose skin in my abdomen. I read online that a tummy tuck can be successful if you're within 30% of your goal weight. My goal weight is 135lbs meaning if I were to get around 160lbs which is less than 30% from my goal weight I would have a BMI of 32.3. Would I still be able to get a tummy tuck around that BMI?

Answer: BMI Concern Thank you for your question about a tummy tuck. It is best to be at a stable weight that you can realistically maintain after surgery. If your weight changes significantly, then this makes the results unpredictable. To be sure, see two or more experienced, board-certified Plastic Surgeons for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery. I hope this helps.

Answer: 29F, 4'11, currently 182lbs - would I still be able to get a tummy tuck around 32.2 BMI? Hello @BreeMarieX3, thank you for your question. Every practice has different requirements for performing a BBL based on BMI that is a weight measure to analyze how risky and optimal the surgery can be, in terms of complications that the patient could have or the results that the patient want to obtain from the surgery. However, It depends on every specialist the requirements for every surgery. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS
