Hello Paige2Mady.You need to ask your surgeon what vitamins he/she thinks are helpful before this mommy makeover. I'm comfortable recommending vitamin C and D. Again, talk to your plastic surgeon about their advice.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :-)
You will need to ask the plastic surgeon who will be performing your procedures. In my practice, no specific vitamins are recommended. If your lab work indicates that your hemoglobin levels are low, you may need to take iron. I recommend that my patients stop taking Vitamin E the week prior to surgery to prevent bleeding problems. Before and after surgery I recommend a diet high in protein to assist in healing.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
This is something you should discus with your surgeon. For my patients, I have them take a high quality vitamin (VitaMedica) for a minimum of 2 weeks before and two weeks after surgery. It does not contain vitamin E which is a blood thinner. Good luck!
Being on a multivitamin all the time is likely beneficial to you. A well rounded diet with fruits, vegetables and lean proteins is a good idea, in general, too. Vitamin C, iron, vitamin D are probably okay. I would not start any new medications or supplements without checking with your plastic surgeon. Also, remember that right after surgery is not the time to go on a diet. Your body will actually need more calories than it normally does because it has to heal all of your surgical areas.
In healthy individuals, I recommend maintaining a healthy diet, refrain from smoking, and take a multivitamin daily to prepare for your surgery.
Thanks for your inquiry, I think a good old fashion multivitamin like Centrum or Woman's One a Day is an excellent idea. Unless you have some unstated vitamin deficiency, than check with your primary care doctor, and good luck.
The best way to prepare your body for surgery is to eat a healthy, balanced diet and maintain a regular exercise program. A regular multi vitamin can be added if you feel you are missing some nutrients. Some companies have developed specific vitamin programs to add micronutrients that help in healing that can be taken before and after surgery. Discuss all medications and supplements with your surgeon before beginning any regimen.
Hello dear! Thanks for the question. It's recommended to take Vitamin C, iron and folic acid before surgery, and also after surgery but adding the antibiotics and others medication that will depend on each doctor.Make sure you look for a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about all your concerns and pre and post surgical instructions.Good luck :)
thank you for your question. I always simply recommend a normal healthy diet high in protein and a multivitamin prior to surgery. I do not believe you need any specific vitamins or significantly change your diet for the surgery. However, a diet high in protein does help with the healing process.
