Will you be disfigured when you remove fillers in your cheeks?

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and I am sorry to hear of your injection related issues.  If you have abnormal swelling and bruising that is compromising your results you may want to allow a couple of more weeks to pass to see if your results improve.  If however you are confidant that your appearance will not change sufficiently I would have your injector place hyaluronidase to dissolve the Voluma.  This will return you to your prior cheek appearance and will not cause any disfigurement.  Best wishes.

It's hard to assess you without photos.  It usually takes 2 wks for the filler to settle in.  If you are unhappy with your results, the filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.  You will not be disfigured if you dissolve the filler.  I would go back and speak with your injector.  Best of luck!  

When you dissolve filler, your face should go back to how it was before your injections. Given your less than stellar results with your current injector, I would suggest that you see someone else to have your Voluma dissolved. Preferably someone with a lot of experience dissolving filler. 

Given the issues that you've had with your injector, I would definitely advise you to seek a second opinion from a really experienced injector. Dissolving filler is as much of an art if not more so than injecting. However, someone with a lot of experience should be able to get you back to your "pre-filler" face. When you remove fillers using hyaluronidase, one would expect the face to go back to what it was before the fillers.  Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified.  I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Thank you for your question.  I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the results of your Voluma treatment.  It's difficult to make exact recommendations without assessing you in-person or reviewing your photos.  Generally speaking, it can take up to 2 weeks for swelling to resolve and for fillers to settle out fully.  That said, if you experienced deeper bruising and hematomas, these may be contributing to your asymmetry, and you may need to wait a few more weeks for these to resolve fully to assess your final results.  If you are still unhappy with your results, Voluma can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.  Your face should return to normal without any permanent disfigurement after your Voluma has been dissolved.  However, because Voluma is a relatively robust filler, it may take multiple sessions of hyaluronidase to fully reverse it's effects.  Best of luck!  

I'm so sorry to hear of your experience. You can certainly have the product dissolved. It may take a few rounds to get it out completely. Hyaluronidase, which is what is used to remove the filler, only takes out the product, so you won't be disfigured. However, Voluma is put at deeper depths so it is often a bit harder to get out than other fillers as it bonds differently and at different depths. So be prepared for multiple visits. Please remember too that removing filler is just as much an art as putting it in to begin with.....
