Is Voluma or Sculptra the right product to fix the dent on the side of the cheek? (photo)

 I usually use both Voluma and Sculptra when sculpting the face. Both can create  beautiful and natural results, and ultimately come down to who the person is injecting the product.  Based on your photo, I believe you would benefit from having your facial curves restored and the dent filled in with Voluma. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in sculpting faces with both products  to get the most flattering results.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and photograph. Because the indentations are along the back of your jaw Voluma and Sculptra will work well to increase the soft tissue volume present.  Both can also be used to address the circled area.  Most patients seek immediate correction and Voluma would offer you that over Sculptra which takes many weeks before seeing improvement.  Hope this helps.

Yes, either Voluma or Sculptra can be used in this area. Radiesse and Bellafill are options too. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

The areas you are concerned with are very subtle and you would benefit greatly from an in-person exam and discussion with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. I usually prefer Voluma for deep filling but this can only be used in certain areas. The upside and downside is that it is temporary and if you love it, it will go away. A more permanent option could be fat grafting to the area but that would also have to be discussed with a qualified surgeon.Hope this helps!

Hi,Based on your photo, Voluma would be a great choice to fix that area.  Voluma can be placed via microcannula for global filling or direct needle for spot treatments.  It is very precise and I think better than Sculptra for you since you see the result right away.Warmly,Dr.Liu

Based solely on your photo, it looks as if either Voluma or Sculptra could solve your problem. The nice thing about Voluma is that since it is an HA filler, if you don't like the results, it can be dissolved. Best of luck.

Thanks for the question and photo. Looks like you could be a good candidate for a long-acting volumizing filler like Voluma or Sculptra. I personally prefer Voluma for most patients as it has a more immediate effect and is pre-mixed, though its results may be shorter lived than the potential 18-24 month result of Sculptra. Both are good, FDA-approved choices for adding volume to the face. Sculptra requires the doctor's team to mix the product ahead of time and takes longer to build up collagen and soft tissue bulk over time and a series of injections. Another option, of course, is to use your own fat with fat transfer, a more permanent approach. I often suggest patients start with Voluma and if they decide they like the improvement and want a more permanent option, consider fat transfer to replace the Voluma when it starts absorbing and "wearing off."

Thank you for your photo. VOLUMA or Sculptra can both work to fill in the dents. Voluma is reversible if necessary and has a more rapid and softer appearing result. Sculptra may be longer lasting but can require multiple treatments. If you are trying to improve overall facial volume, both Voluma and Sculptra can be good choices.Voluma is one of my personal favorite product for cheek enhancement (and small conservative amount to the nasolabial folds- although other product can be better for that area which is the area you circled). The advantage of Voluma is that you immediately see the results and that it can last up to two years.Sculptra can be a great way to very naturally restore facial volume by stimulating your own body's collage production. I would lean towards recommending this for you based on the photos. The disadvantage of Sculptra is having to wait. You get the initial injection and your face looks puffy, but it goes away quickly as your body reabsorbed the water in the injection. Slowly over 6 months you will be the build up. It can be a great product, but it does require patience. If you have never had filler, it can be hard to start with Sculptra because of the delayed gratification. Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo.  It's difficult to make exact recommendations without assessing you in-person, but based on your photos, you could benefit from Sculptra injections to stimulate collagen in these areas.  Hyaluronic acid fillers are also an option, however I generally prefer to use Vollure over Voluma here, as it is a softer product and is better suited to more superficial injections in this area.  Sculptra would like provide longer lasting results, but would take multiple treatment sessions, and the results would slowly build over the course of several months.  Vollure would provide immediate improvement, but likely would not last as long as Sculptra.  I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist to discuss your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you.  Best of luck!
