Submental lipo, chin implant or neck lift - what is the best option for me? (photos)

You need chin implant as well to get the best result. Chin liposuction helps reduce the bulge under the chin and can be done for the whole neck. Once the fat is removed the skin can become loose and saggy in some cases. It can be avoided by combining it with Thermitight which is a radiofrequency heat delivered under the skin to tighten it. Both chin liposuction and Thermitight can be done at the same time. The recovery is fast and it can be done under local anesthesia.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from chin liposuction. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

The limited photograph demonstrate fat deposits located above AND below the platysma muscle in addition to a recessive mandible. Consider placement of a chin implant to augment the chin forward for better structural support for the soft tissues in the neck since your chin is recessive. Liposuction for fat removal above the muscle will be ineffective. A neck lift procedure accomplishes removal of fat deposits above the platysma muscle and surgical extraction of the fat deposits below the platysma muscle, which also includes a platysma-plasty to significantly improve the jawline.

Each persons facial appearance is primarily based on skeletal structure.

Soft tissues tend to be consistent and are not typically the primary cause for having an attractive or unattractive facial appearance when it comes to young people.

With age soft tissues begin to change creating an aged appearance but this is quite different than having an aesthetic attractive face or not.

People who seek chin and neck Liposuction almost always have a facial skeletal imbalance with a mandible that is small or lacking projection in comparison to their Maxilla.

This often presents with patients having a dental overbite occlusion and an upper lip that has more forward projection than the lower lip.

Augmenting the chin may or may not be appropriate and this depends on the chin itself. Patients who have a projecting chin will develop an unfavorable labiomental angle by augmenting the chin. If the labiomental angle is obtuse then augmenting the chin with an implant or sliding genioplasty may be highly appropriate.

Chin augmentation can be done using fillers, implants or a sliding genioplasty.

All of the treatment options have advantages and disadvantages.

You may wanna consider consulting with a few local oral surgeons to get a quality assessment in regards to facial skeletal structure balance or the lack thereof.

While both plastic surgeons and oral surgeons can technically perform all of the procedures it seems like oral surgeons tend to favor sliding genioplasty more often and plastic surgeons seem to choose implants as the better way to go.

Oral surgeons probably have more formal training in craniofacial assessments but some plastic surgeons especially those with craniofacial Fellowship training may be equally qualified.

Liposuction especially for those who have fat to remove can give great improvements though often that distribution is not the primary problem.

In general the best results, from treating the primary problem down sometimes a multiple procedure approach can give the best results.

In the end what is probably the most important decision is finding the most talented and experienced provider.

Find the right plastic surgeon or in this case possibly oral surgeon and everything falls into place.

Do that by having multiple in person consultations. To get an idea of the scope of experience and talent of each provider ask them to show you their entire collection up before and after pictures. When consulting with oral surgeons there may be a good chance that they do not offer or have experience with Liposuction though they tend to be quite good at facial skeletal related issues.

The definite answer is a genioplasty which will 'stretch out' the submental area and enhance the profile. The submental area will likely not need lipo once the muscle stretches the area and the 'flatness' is apparent. However, a genioplasty and not an implant is necessary in your case, since a genioplasty literally advances and flattens the muscle under the chin whereas the implant does not.
