I have a witch chin and I absolutely hate it. It ruins my facial harmony. The chin should ideally be slightly behind the lower lip and have slight to no mentalabial crease. Even though I had chin filler in my mentalabial crease, it still curves in from the side and protrudes. How can I get make it less fatty and less protrusive to improve facial harmony and femininity in my side profile.

You have a beautiful mandibular contour with a slightly over-projected chin. The main problem with your chin is that is short in a vertical dimension making the mentolabial fold appear deep. In order to improve facial balance, i would recommend a genioplasty to both lengthen and reduce the projection of your chin. The surgery will not change your bite or affect your teeth. We perform this surgery in the office with sedation anesthesia.

Not only do you have a deep labiomental angle with a projecting chin but the mandible itself it’s also undersized.  most likely you have an overbite dental occlusion.

This shows on your profile picture because your upper lip has slightly more forward projection that your lower lip. The relationship of the lips is a direct reflection of where the teeth sit and teeth position shows the relationship between the mandible and maxilla. It’s possible to have a Mandible that’s both too big and too small at the same time and this is what you have.  it has excessive projection at the tip why the body of the mandible is actually undersized.

These dynamics are not the easiest to manage. To get a really good assessment and understanding of all treatment options whether you opt to have them or not I suggest consulting with oral surgeons who do cranial facial surgery.

Plastic surgeons who have done cranial facial fellowships could also help you.

Reducing the chin is a fairly involved procedure that should be reserved for those who have experience.

The first step should be getting a quality assessment and a clear understanding of facial dynamics which is not always straightforward and you may get opinions that differ.

Whether you opt to have surgical intervention or not it is always best to at least start by having a thorough understanding of options.
