I am wanting to do something about my double chin and wondering if liposuction would be an option?

Kybella can breakdown fat and reduce the bulge under the chin but does not achieve the same result as liposuction.
Chin liposuction helps reduce the bulge under the chin and can be done for the whole neck. Once the fat is removed the skin can become loose and saggy in some cases. It can be avoided by combining it with Thermitight which is a radiofrequency heat delivered under the skin to tighten it. Both chin liposuction and Thermitight can be done at the same time. The recovery is fast and it can be done under local anesthesia.

Ultherapy is a non-invasive procedure that lifts the neck, chin and brow, and improves lines and wrinkles on the upper chest. As we age, collagen breaks down, resulting in loss of skin strength and elasticity. "For a double chin, InMode FaceTite with VASERlipo would give you the best result.

With significant neck sagging you would need a facelift / neck lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). At the same time, I would recommend lasers (Fraxel, CO2, Halo, or Erbium) and microneedling RF (Fractora, Morpheus8, PiXel8, Intensif) to improve the crepey skin and wrinkles. Overall, the neck can be treated with a combination approach:

1. Microneedling and laser treatments for texture
2. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Jeuveau to help platysmal bands

An in person exam is always best, but based on your photos it appears you would have a nice improvement with submental liposuction.  You could consider adding FaceTite as well which uses RF technology to tighten skin up to 40%.  See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Patient perform a premature double chin, jowls and lack jawline definition  typically do so because they have an under developed mandible in relation to their Maxilla.

Liposuction works well to improve the area but the primary problem is skeletal structure.

Liposuction gives better results in young people who do not have a loss of skin elasticities that comes with age. Starting around age 50 patients become much better candidates for a neck lift than Liposuction alone.

Your best option is to have in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons to hear all the different treatment options available and pick the one you feel is most appropriate for you.

To get the ideal outcome would require addressing all tissue layers including bone, muscle, fat and skin.

Liposuction only addresses subcutaneous fat.

Therefore it will give a partial improvement.

Whether that is efficient or you’re looking for a more impressive result which could be had with a neck lift is something that needs to be discussed during a consultation.

Advancing the mandible through cranial facial surgery may not be indicated or to everyone’s liking.
