I find that VASER liposuction in combination with Renuvion or ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates, but Kybella can be used as an alternative and gets better results when combined with Thermage/Ultherapy/Exilis, TruSculpt iD, or Coolsculpting. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
The fat under the chin and around the jawline is very hard to target with diet and exercise. You can be slim and in good shape but still have a double chin. The best approach would be to perform liposuction on the area below the chin, around the jawline, and on the neck. This will give you the most optimal result, a defined jawline, reduction of fat, and a timeless solution that won't change with weight gain.
Hi @Fabulous2! I recommend Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Submental fat can be a problem area for a lot of patients. Through weight fluctuations or even genetics, this area can be very stubborn and hard to remove on one's own. Based on your images provided, you could be a candidate for either surgical or non-invasive procedures. Submental fullness and/or skin laxity can be helped with a multitude of options (i.e. Kybella, Ultherapy, liposuction, etc.). It is important to find a provider who is qualified and knowledgeable in these procedures to ensure best results. Your physician should do a full facial evaluation, understand your goals, and provide the best treatment plan to achieve your desired results.
Dear Fabulous2,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from chin liposuction. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
It's possible to lose facial fat with diet and exercise. While we always promote a healthy lifestyle and maintaining a healthy weight, some patients are left with loose skin after weight loss. It appears you may benefit from chin liposuction. This can be combined with FaceTite which uses RF technology to tighten skin up to 40%.
Much more information is needed, such as a full set of facial photographs from all angles in a chin neutral position in addition to your BMI also known as body mass index. If the fat deposits are located above the platysma muscle, then simple liposuction will be sufficient. If you're fat deposits are located below the muscle, then a surgical extraction of that fat is required along with the platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline.
To make an assessment plastic surgeons ideally prefer standard facial pictures taken at right angles from the front and the side with the patient holding a neutral facial expression.Regardless, laxity in the submental or neck area can come from a multitude of reasons. When it happens prematurely in people who are not overweight it is always related to bone structure. As they say in dentistry soft tissue issues follow bone issues. Patients who have an under developed mandible the typically presents with a dental overbite or an upper lip that has more forward projection than the lower lip typically develop a double chin prematurely.Laxity in the skin and underlying platysma muscle can also contribute. So can having submandibular salivary glands that are large.Fat removal is the most effective and easiest way to address this and that is best done with Liposuction.Fat removal does not address bone structure, Possible laxity in the platysma muscle or loss of skin elasticity but it is a fairly simple procedure. without addressing bone structure the next step up the ladder would be a neck lift.Personally I’m not a big fan of Kybella but I suppose that is an option.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Based on your photographs, your chin position is a little retrustive. A chin implant or chin filler (depending on how permanent of a result you want and how much of a procedure you want to undergo) would help this. Submental liposuction and/or radiofrequency skin tightening would be options for...
Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful...
An in person examination is recommended to determine the nature of the skin and the best way to address it. You may be a candidate for FaceTite. This non surgical procedure uses RF technology to tighten skin up to 40%. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.
