Could cervical spine injury be due to lipo on neck & chin?

Hello, About 10 years ago I had lipo done on my neck and chin. A few years back I started getting pinched nerves that affected my arms and hands. It was discovered that I have scar tissue on the forward side of my cervical spine. I have always wondered if this could somehow be related to the lipo I had done years before. Even if it had not been direct contact, could it have somehow caused damage? Any advice and insight is appreciated.

Thank you for the question. So sorry you’re experiencing the nerve problems. The answer is no. Neck Liposuction is removal of fat under the chin. The plastic surgeon is nowhere near the spine during lipo. Spinal changes are typically a result of degenerative disc disease, which is managed by a spine surgeon. I wish you all the best.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having with pinched nerves.  This would not be related to liposuction of the neck or chin.  During liposuction the fat is removed from just beneath the skin of the area treated.  The surgeon would not be near your spine during the procedure.
