Please advise. I had lipo and fat transfer 2 months ago. Is this from swelling or something done wrong by my doctor?
Answer: Liposuction - Post Op Belly Button Thank you for question. You are still relatively early in the recovery process. There appears to be a combination of loose skin and some residual swelling. This is common following abdominal liposuction and will continue to improve over the next several months. Please have close follow up with your surgeon and follow all of your post-operative instructions including use of compression garments. Hope this helps.

Answer: Why does my belly button look deformed? Thank you for your question and photograph. Preoperative photographs would be useful to determine the change in appearance of your belly button, but I can see your area of concern. In your photograph you appear to be laying down and though not apparent, your stretch marks indicate that you may now have excess, sagging skin after your liposuction. The only way to correct this is through a skin excision type of procedure, such as a tummy tuck. Voice your concerns to your surgeon.

Answer: Liposuction and Techniques -- SmartLipo Versus VASER Versus Traditional Versus WAL Versus ThermiRF I suggest seeking a cosmetic dermatologist who specializes in lasers and RF devices to optimize your results. Often the belly button changes after liposution and this may be permanent but can be improved with skin tightening and RF heating devices. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Liposuction surgery has risks for prolonged swelling and induration (scar tissue) that can form in treated areas. Minor contour irregularities are common as it is not any sort of skin tightening or smoothing procedure. Patients usually need to wait at least 6 months in order to assess results. Be patient, it may get better with time.

Answer: Excess skin can be a unwanted aesthetic byproduct of liposuction. It looks as though there is an excess of skin in the wake of the liposuction. Stretch marks reveal that the skin has very little contractility in the first place. You may want to consider an abdominoplasty as a potential solution.
