Hello, I have been on acctuane for 2 complete rounds and am now on my 3rd. I have decided to come off of it as my joints have been very painful and I’m only finishing up the 2nd month. I am curious about this treatment, the vampire facial as it is a healthier option. My step-mom is able to do the treatment for me, but I’m curious if it will help with acne as I only see people use it for acne scarring? She did say a low grade medication alongside treatment could work. Thoughts?
Answer: Vampire facial inquiry Hello, thank you for your question. A Vampire Facial is not recommended for patients who have active acne. A Vampire Facial is a nonsurgical treatment option that is recommended for patients who are seeking to treat acne scars, hyperpigmentation, uneven/dull skin tone, and fine lines.

Answer: Microneedling with CBD Microneedling over active acne can potentially be harmful and cause hyperpigmentation so I would be very cautious with using this treatment at home. However, microneedling with CBD is actually excellent for active acne because it interacts with our body's natural endocannibinoid system to inhibit acne producing cells and reduce inflammation. I have formulated a medical grade CBD that is pure and has gone through extensive testing so as to not cause added irritation to your skin. If you decide to go this route it is very important that you research the ingredients and the type of testing that the CBD you use has undergone. I would recommend a series of 3 microneedling with CBD treatments to get your skin to an optimal place. Going forward, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified experts to discuss your ideal aesthetic goals. This way, they can better assess your face and create an ideal treatment plan for you. Best of luck, Kian Karimi MD, FACS

Answer: Vampire Facial Thank you for your question in regards to “vampire facial” treatment, also known as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) facial. This treatment uses platelets from a patient's blood and are microneedled into the skin. Microneedling PRP into the skin can promote tissue regeneration and increased collagen production minimizing the appearance of pore size, fine lines and wrinkles while improving the overall tone and texture of your skin. With that being said, it is not recommended to treat on active acne as it can cause irritation and lead to more break outs. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Improving Acne -- Lasers, Cosmelan, Salt Facial, Microneedling/PRP, Skin Care, Peels, Blue Light, RF, Isotretinoin Yes, it will help however - acne requires a combination method approach to get long-term improvement. I recommend a combination of Cosmelan, salt facials, peels, lasers, microneedling with PRP (Vampire Facial), blue light, radiofrequency and isotretinoin. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Vampire Facial for Acne For our patients with similar skin conditions we usually recommend a VI Peel and three initial vampire facials along with some skincare products. A VI Peel is a multi-facet treatment that suppresses the production of melanin at the source while promoting rapid cell turnover for more even and bright skin tone. Resurfacing action reveals brighter, renewed skin for results in 7 days. With microneedling in combination with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) also known as a "Vampire Facial," a medical grade pen with tiny needles to create “micro-channels” in the skin. in recreating the healing process of the body with these micro-channels in the skin, it sends signals to the brain that say “I need new skin” and then blood is sent to the area for healing and with the combination of PRP our own cells help heal the area for a quicker and even more effective response. The best part about a "Vampire Facial" is that is not only correcting hyperpigmentation, but also treating conditions such as fine lines, wrinkles, enlarges pores, scarring and overall skin tone.
