How do I get rid of atrophic scarring on belly button piercing? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You might consider an injected fat graft with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The physician would need to do a mini-liposuction to obtain the fat and then mix it with PRP before injecting it into the site. It works for breast augmentation, so it would likely work on a smaller scale here. Likely to be expensive though.

I have a light scar on my face. How can I get it to fade away? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I think perhaps a couple treatments with subcutaneous injection of platelet-rich plasma would remodel the area and smooth out the scar.

How can I fix discoloration and the scars on the nipple after breast augmentation? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is a difficult case because of the skin pigmentation. First off I would counsel patience. You're only two months out from surgery and those scars are still in the remodeling process. Give it another four months and then see how things look.

If it's still a problem at six months out then you might want to consider platelet-rich plasma injections into the area. This will cause the scars to start remodeling again which will cause them to smooth out and it may also cause more uniform pigmentation of the skin in the area.

I had a deep cut on my lower lip about one month ago and now it’s healing with a raised scar, what are my options? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Cheapest: Just wait. The scar will continue to gradually remodel over the next 6+ months and may be much less significant by that time.

Most effective: You might need surgical revision, but injection with platelet-rich plasma might be just as effective (and cheaper). However, it might be harder to find a qualified regenerative physician to do this than to find a plastic surgeon.

Do you have treatment suggestions for 20-year-old small scar on the bridge of my nose? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is the kind of small scar that might best be treated with local injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). A couple PRP treatments could be enough to remodel the skin causing decrease of pigmentation and smoothing of the bump.

Finding a qualified practitioner who can do PRP might require some effort. Some plastic surgeons, dermatologists, regenerative medicine specialists and even some family physicians have the training and equipment.

What are my options to remove/conceal my piercing scars? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

These are small scars, but pretty deep. A plastic surgeon could probably excise and repair them and make them much less obvious. However, before doing that you might want to try local injection with hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma. That might be enough to fill in the defects and smooth the skin.

Can someone clearly explain a vampire facelift?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

"Vampire Facelift" refers to a specific procedure trademarked by Dr. Charles Runels. Any procedure that deviates from his protocol cannot be legally called a Vampire Facelift. It consists of two sets of injections. The first set is injections of hyaluronic acid filler at strategic points around the face where volume has been lost. Since most people lose facial volume in the same places these injection points are pretty standard, although practitioners may vary them slightly to compensate for individual variation. So we are neither injecting the whole face nor injecting at points based on personal judgement.

The second set of injections is of platelet-rich plasma, which adds longevity and regeneration to the volume enhancement. These injections are performed in more or less the same spots as the first set so that the HA can act as a scaffold for cell growth.

No Botox ix involved.

Can this scar indentation be corrected? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is a pretty deep scar and will probably require surgical revision.

However, if you're put off by the thought of another surgical procedure you could try platelet-rich plasma injections. If you can find an experienced provider who can give subcutaneous and intradermal PRP injections in and around the site a series of such treatments might fill in the defect and smooth out the skin.

I am 32 year old I have some acne scars on my face. Is it safe or beneficial to get a microneedling plus PRP treatment? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Yes, superficial PRP therapy as you describe will smooth out acne scars and roughness. Don't do it, however, when you have an active inflammed facial lesion. Wait until things are calm.

If you have an active lesion then a laser treatment is probably the fastest way to take care of it.

How can I improve this nail scratch on my cheek that is 25 years old? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Unfortunately your photo is not close enough to make out the scar very well. However, it does not appear to be discolored or to involve major tissue growth or loss.

I think your best first line treatment would be intradermal injections with platelet-rich plasma. These are likely to be able to smooth the skin surface and texture in the area.
