My scars show below my bra now and my areola are low and stretched. This doesn't look right. My skin is so stretched that I am wondering how this can even be fixed

Thanks for your question. Although it is impossible to make a definitive diagnosis without a formal physical examination, from viewing your photograph is does appear that you have developed capsular contractures. You should meet with your surgeon to discuss your concerns and to review options, which may include capsulectomy (removal of the constricting breast capsules). Best of luck.

It's very likely that you have capsular contraction which has pulled the implants upwards, and has revealed the IMF scar, in which case you will need a capsulectomy and repositioning of the implants.

Without knowing details of how far you are out of surgery and if this is a revision (or primary), it's really hard to give you good advice on how you are healing.  However, from the photo, it does appear that you may be developing very early capsular contracture since your implants are so high.  Also, it's interesting that your scars meet in the midline.  I too would be interested to know if you saw a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for your procedure.  If not, I would highly recommend getting a second opinion and getting this fixed.I hope that helps and wish you the very best!-Gregory A Buford MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

You are correct that this does not look right. You appear to have tight capsular contracture with elevation of implant. You need to be reevaluated for possible capsulectomy  and scar revision. Good luck.

Not sure how long ago your surgery was performed, but it appears to me that you have developed a capsular contracture, maybe even on both sides. I would go back to your surgeon for further evaluation and discuss treatment options. Best.

Sorry to hear about your concerns. You have a couple of issues.1. Wide scar  that is too visible.  You may have had the closure under too much tension, or you may simply tend towards thick scars. I do not extend the scars as far laterally nor medially as yours are, because they are hard to conceal.2. Capsule contracture. It appears your implant have contracture and may be "rising" within the pocket.For both of these you need an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon as it will be possible, but no easy, to improve your result.   Best wishes.

A more specific history (time frames, symptoms, etc.) and other issues such as hardness of your breasts would be important in terms of providing you with helpful advice. From the photos, you do have multiple significant problems that will need to be addressed. Was your surgeon a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery? If not, you DEFINITELY need to see one. If he/she is, go back and discuss your concerns. Thank you for your questions and sharing your pictures.
 This is a clear example that we don't have all the answers, why this happen?, I honestly don't know, I have some clues, but they are just that.
Anyway, you obviously need a revision , they will need to lower the implants, because they are in a higher position right now, your nipple has to be the point of maximum projection.
They will not be perfect, but I guess with the right revision they can look a lot better.
Plegase talk to your surgeon about this , he'll be the best one to do this revision.
