Do I need a breast lift for borderline ptosis? (Photos)

Hello,Your ptosis is not borderline and you have significant asymmetry. You will do best with the surgery that will give you the best symmetry and shape; a formal lift. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in cosmetic breast surgery. Best of luck!

A lift would probably be advised. Even if your results are okay shortly after surgery, you’ll most likely need a lift in the near future due to the added weight of the implants weighing your breasts down, worsening skin and tissue laxity.

From your photographs, it seems that you can basically get away without a breast lift. Depending on your expectations, this may not be what you are looking for. A lift will give you a perkier, younger looking breast. Only you and your plastic surgeon can make these determinations after a close examination.

I perform a liposuction breast lift that removes tissue from the areas you don't want such as near the armpit and the lower portion hanging near your stomach. Once I use this to shape the breast I then remove the skin to tighten the breast and create a better shape with nice cleavage. Since I perform this less invasively the recovery time is faster and drains are not necessary. The size would depend on the proportion with your body versus going for a cup size. It works very well if there are asymmetries. I can also use the removed fat as a natural breast augmentation by grafting the fat back into the breast to create more projection or into the top to create more cleavage. This procedure can also be combined with an implant if needed or wanted.  It should not affect nipple sensation, mammograms, cancer risk or breast-feeding. If you gain or lose weight, the transferred fat can do the same.

The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.  Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery.

Hi, thank you for posting your photos.  The best way to get upper pole volume and augmentation is with breast implants, which will fill up the breast skin envelope.  Sometimes a breast implant is large enough to fill the skin envelope completely, and you can avoid a lift.  However, your breast skin and nipples are slightly asymmetric (this is normal).  A breast lift is like a skin-tailoring procedure.  Removing the droopy skin with a lift avoids having to use a bigger implant to fill up the skin envelope, and it may improve your symmetry.  Good luck!  

Thank you for sharing your case!  By viewing your pictures I can tell you with 100% certainty that you will have the best cosmetic result with a lift and an implant on the right side b/c of the ptosis (sagging).  As far as the left breast, you could have a sub muscular implant using a dual plane 3 which can give an internal lift by releasing the breast tissue from the muscle inside the pocket.  I commonly do this to give some lift to the breast without making external scars. 
  The suggestions above are just by viewing your pictures.  The final result would be discussed after a physical exam and reviewing your medical history. 

Looking at your pictures it appears that you will benefit from a breast lift. I would probably recommend a circum-areolar, or around the nipple, type lift for you as well as implants. You should have a great result. Make sure you see an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. I hope this has helped.

on what you want. Can likely have shaped/anatomic device and no lift with good outcome, or round implant likely with a lift, you are definitely borderline, would need to go to OR with consent and finances for a lift if going round. 

You are borderline needing a lift. I would recommend most likely having a dual plane augmentation only. I    think you will have a nice result, and at some point in  the  future you could have a small lift if needed. Good luck.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The
best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  With that
being said, based on your photographs, the best shape and contour could be
achieved with an implant and a vertical or wise pattern breast lift.  I rarely
recommend a Bennelli or circumareaolar (donut) lift.  Over time, the
areola tends to enlarge with a thickened scar.  The other even worse
problem with a circumareaolar lift is that it flattens out the shape
of the anterior breast over time.  A vertical or wise pattern lift with an
implant can result in a very nice shape if good technique is
used.    The size of the implant is based on your desired
breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue
quality.  This decision should be based on a
detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your
surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and
after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your
surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to
find a surgeon you are comfortable with.
