I need removal of Medpor implants due to infection, half my face will not have implants anymore. Should I remove all of them?

Hi labner,  this is a difficult question to answer.  The short answer is that I would probably try the med poor implants again once your body has had a chance to heal up fully. However, I would not be so quick to rule out silicone implants. I obviously do not know the full story  behind your previous silicone implant, but, overall, I much prefer them to Medpor implants.  

It would be very hard to match implants size/shape if you do not change them all. My advice regarding implant removal is, remove them all. Wait 4-6 months and consider another set of implants. Silicone implants are most frequently used, easy to place and remove, if needed. They are also the cheapest. It would be hard to give you more detailed and informed advice based on your current report. You should seek a second opinion consult by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon or maxillo-facial surgeon with expertise in facial implants; maybe someone out of your area.
