Upper eyelid or rhinoplasty first?

It really doesn't matter about the sequence of these two surgeries. I have done many simultaneously. In a staged setting you can do either first; choose the one that bothers you the most. 

You are correct that rhinoplasty should also improve the appearance of the eyes. If you do not want these two procedures performed at the same time, I do not see a clear advantage of performing one or the other first.Rather, go ahead the procedure first that addresses your number one concern . 

The rhinoplasty procedure and upper blepharoplasty can be performed together or separately. It really depends upon the patient and how they wish to proceed. If performed separately, the cost will be higher, and you will anticipate 2 weeks of bruising and swelling for the eyelids and an additional 2 weeks of bruising and swelling for the nose job.

The two procedures can be combined together nicely. The main advantage is that there is just one recovery. It is common to have bruising in the eye area from rhinoplasty that can last from 10 to 14 days. Same with the blepharoplasty. When you combine the two procedures it's still just 10 to 14 days. If you do the procedures separately, they can be done in any order. The eyes have no effect on the nose and vice versa.

You can have both the rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty together.  But if you want to stage it, you can have either one first. It shouldn't make a difference.

Makes no difference which you do first but you might consider doing them both together.  It often can save quite a bit of money by combining procedures like these.  That, plus the fact that you just have one recovery.

I do not see a reason to separate the procedures. They are commonly performed together. The advantages are only 1 recovery period and you usually save about 40% of the surgeons fee on the second procedure as most surgery centers front load the costs for the first hour or so. I do not have a recommendation on which to perform first if you wish to proceed with only one at this time. Not a lot of discomfort from the procedures either.

The operations can be done at the same time or separately.  Neither operation should affect the out come of the other. The blepharoplasty can also be done under local anesthesia.

Hello, and thank you for your question.I believe it does not make a difference which surgery you have first.Some things to consider:1. It may work out cheaper to have both procedures together2. If you have both procedures together you need less time off3. Choose the one that bothers you most4. Fit in your choice with your lifestyle and budget5. Eyelid surgery is done, in my practice, under local anaesthetic in my surgery, or under local plus sedation, or under general anaesthesia in hospital. The choice is often the patient's.I wish you well with whatever decision you make.As the Plastic Surgeon involved, it would not matter to me.
