QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Is there a limit for Silikon 1000 in lips? How many sessions are the maximum?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Unfortunately, There is no "magic number".   The answer to this question would depend on how much Silikon 1000 is being injected into the lips during each session, the size and shape of the lips as well as the response after each session.

I use the micro-droplet technique and use extremely small amounts of  Silikon 1000 during each treatment.  I also have patients wait a MINIMUM of 4 weeks between sessions so that the result can be evaluated prior to moving ahead with another treatment.   Each patient is treated individually according to their own response to each session.   A recent in-house study showed that our Lip Augmentation patients averaged 4 sessions.

Thank you,

Dr. Tobin

Is this a Pollybeak Deformity? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Swelling can persist for several months following rhinoplasty, and, frankly speaking, it is just too early to know for sure.  Try and remain patient but be sure to communicate openly with your surgeon.  If the bump doesn't show any signs of improvement in the next 6 months, make an appointment to have your surgeon check it again.  All the Best to you,

Could I have a closed rhino or will a nose filler look good with my nose? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You would need to have a Rhinoplasty instead of fillers to address this issue. It appears as though you are a great candidate for the surgery.

Best Filler for Eye Wrinkles

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Dear Rosane,

You actually have several options depending on your individual situation.  If the wrinkles are visible "at rest", Restylane might be a very good choice.  If you only notice the wrinkles when you squint, Botox might be the answer.  You might also might want to consider laser resurfacing.

It is possible that any one (or combination) of these options could be what you are seeking.  A photo would be very helpful.

Kindest Regards,

Is it normal for a doctor to advertise certain fillers and then not offer them, or to limit the type of fillers they offer?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Kasey,

Thank you for your question.  While I find it strange that a doctor would advertise products that he/she doesn't use,  it does sound reasonable to limit the variety of fillers offered.

When you call to schedule an appointment, ask what products are currently offered.  You might find that there are only a few products normally kept "in stock".   This is probably because, in their experience, they are seeing good results with them and their patients are happy.

It would be very expensive for an office to stock every type of filler on the market.  These products have to be paid for when ordered and all have expiration dates.  Anything that sits on the shelf and doesn't get used would be a complete loss.  The cost of this, of course, trickles down and effects the cost to the patients.

If you are seeking a specific filler and want to find someone who currently offers it, you might contact the distributor.   Sometimes product websites will have a list of doctors who offer their fillers.

I hope you found this explanation beneficial.

Can paralysis of lower lip resolve?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

If there was no direct damage to the nerve and the paralysis was caused by stretching or swelling around the nerve, it could certainly resolve on it's own.  Have you seen any noticeable improvement in the 5 weeks since your surgery?  If so, that is a positive sign.  Unfortunately, I can't tell you how long.   It might be several weeks and possibly several months before it feels back to "normal".

Would tear trough or cheek filler be the best option to fix my eye bags? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Restylane works well in the tear trough area.   While cheek fillers can provide very nice results, they are temporary and have to be repeated.  Some fillers last longer than others and it is important that you discuss the different options available.

Malar implants would be worth your consideration for the augmenting the cheeks because the result would be permanent.  This is a surgical procedure so there are additional risks associated that aren't an issue with using fillers.

Do you think I need only one syringe for both eyes, or one syringe for each eye to fill under-eye hollows and wrinkles? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

In my experience in using Restylane underneath the eyes,  I would expect that a 1cc syringe would probably be enough for both areas.   Remember, you can always go back and have more injected if it doesn't meet your expectations.

What would be best for my tear trough fillers? Juvederm or Restylane? How many cc?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I prefer using Restylane for tear troughs and have been using it for many years.

Restylane provides a very smooth resulth because it has less density and is a good option for the tear trough area where the skin is thinner.

I’m 10 months post op and the tip of my nose is fairly hard and looks bulbous. Will this get any better? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

A little hard to answer without better pre and post op pictures, but in general, you will know when the swelling in the tip has resolved when the nose loosed the firm, woody feeling that you experience after rhinoplasty.  Usually that swelling will resolve in about 6 months, but it can take longer.  If swelling persists, cosmetic surgeons will often inject steroids to help diminish the swelling.  This is something you can discuss with your surgeon

Breast Augmentation

cota66

Extremely Knowledgeable

Dr Tobin performed breast augmentation on me several years ago, and I have seen him numerous times for facial fillers and botox. He and his staff are absolutely wonderful and he is extremely knowledgeable. Also, he is a very genuine and caring person. I highly recommend him!

Look 10-15 Years Younger

I was concerned about his age; however, Dr. Tobin is the sharpest 80 year old man I think I have ever met. I was rude and asked about his stamina in surgery and the steadiness of his hands. He laughed, held out his hands and told me that he sits down during surgery and the operating table lowers. He is incredibly talented and experienced. I know two other people who had the lower face lift with him and they were both very pleased. I had my surgery with him and couldn't be happier. I look a good ten years younger than my 69 years. I have very good skin on my face, but my neck and jowls were awful. The staff is wonderful, the guest accommodations were nice, the medical care was outstanding. If I need other work I will return to his office. He takes plenty of time to talk with you and explain things and seems to really care for people and their needs/wants. Be prepared to meet his sidekick companion, the dog. The only doctor I know who has his dog in the office with him all day! PS - the cost is not outrageous either

Tummy Tuck

Showstopper22

Caring Doctor

I had a tummy tuck and Brazilian butt lift done in the Dominican Republic. When I arrived home I had developed a large seroma, I could not find a surgeon to help me drain it, they all refused because I didn't initially have the surgery with them. I was truly blessed to find Dr. Tobin and his incredible staff, they booked me right away and the Dr. drained me. This goes to show how much he cares for people, and his staff was very comforting. He saved me from so much stress and pain. Thank you Dr. Tobin!!!

Lower Facelift

I have had two amazing experiences

Dr Tobin performed a lower face lift and laser resurfacing 20 years ago and a neck lift and minor laser resurface again recently. I am 68 and look at least15 years younger but natural, which is why I went back to Dr Tobin and will only see Dr Tobin. I live in Los Angeles. Dr Tobin and his staff completely educate and advise patients with no pressure. They are focused on what you want and deliver excellent results.

Wonderful experience

Doctor Tobin and his staff are wonderful! I have been to a couple of other plastic surgeons in Houston and I haven't found anybody better than doctor Tobin. He did a great job with my surgery I have no complaints. He also has a very cozy place for out of town patients to stay for the night which was very convenient. I feel so at home and welcome at his office.

Sixty-eight and now looking GREAT!!

Undoubtedly, Dr. Tobin is the most talented, knowledgeable, compassionate cosmetic surgeon in Southwestern USA. He performed facelift, full laser resurfacing, and lower eyelid surgery 2/14/2017. I am 68 yrs. old, and Dr. Tobin performed 1st facelift 1997. (with awesome results as well) No surprise that numerous surgeons train under Dr. Tobin to learn up-to-date cosmetic surgical techniques. Now my husband excited for his lower eyelid surgery!

46 Yrs Old Post Pregnancy Loose Skin - Abilene, TX

Dr. Tobin was not only kind and friendly, he was very informative. He took his time to make sure I was aware of ALL of the risks and benefits of the procedure and even told me about other options available. I chose to go back for a second consultation (no charge) a little over month later and he spent time just going over everything again. I was 100% confident he was the man for the job and I WAS RIGHT. I highly recommend Dr. Tobin to anyone and everyone.

2 Weeks Post Op TY with Muscle Repair and Lipo - Abeline, TX

I'm just at my 2 week mark of TY with muscle repair, breast reduction and lipo, it's really a Rollar coaster ride, I can literally feel my nerves waking up, and sometimes my abdominal muscle contract so tight, like I'm stuck in a sit up or a abdominal crunch that won't let go, I'm just a little frustrated because yesterday I didn't take any pain medication, and today I refused to feel pain, so I had to take a pain pill, now I feel guilty, it seems to me, being a nurse as well, that I shouldn't still need a narcotic for pain, any encouraging words from someone in, or has been in my situation would be so inspirational....Thanks for reading. I feel better just writing this... Updated on 22 Nov 2014: Before and after TT with muscle repair. This is 3 weeks post op
