I know Botox can be used, but is this something I’d have to keep getting done every couple of months? I’d prefer a more permanent option if there is one. Do symptoms of the orange peel chin keep improving until you no longer need treatement or will I need to get it every time the Botox runs out. I’m only 19 and hate my chin and wouldn’t want to have to keep treating my chin forever. What Can I do?
Answer: Dimpled Chin Botox is an effective treatment for the "orange peel" chin appearance since the irregularity is typically due to muscle contraction. It provides a very nice aesthetic result and may last 4-6 months. This area requires very few units so it is quite affordable. Please consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon experienced in Botox injections to the lower face. Best wishes.

Answer: Botox to Relax the Mentalis Muscle in Chin Thank you for the detailed question. A small dose of Botox to relax the mentalis muscle that overlies the chin would stop the orange peel appearance and give you the outcome you want. Botox usually lasts between 4-6 months and although it seems cumbersome to have to do it so often, if this is something that bothers you so much, it will be worth it. I recommend seeing an expert injector in-person so they can look at the activity in the muscle and correctly dose you so that the Botox lasts as long as possible. Answer: Botox for Orange Peel Chin? Botox Can Smooth Out Orange Peel Chin Botox can do a great job of smoothing out your chin and removing the orange-peel look. It only takes a small amount of Botox to make a big difference in this area. Over time, as your muscle weakens, you may need less Botox. Regardless, it would only have to be re-administered every 4 to 6 months. That’s a much longer maintenance schedule than that for a haircut or a manicure. Looking our best takes constant vigilance! Another option is the use of a very fine hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane Silk or Belatero. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can help you feel better about your chin.

Answer: Botox or Dysport for "p'eau d'orange" chin dimpling. The chin dimpling you see is from dynamic movement of the chin causing "p'eau d'orange" appearance. A small amount of botox (5 units) would be sufficient but it needs to be placed in the right location and it will only help the lower appearance of the chin. There will still be some dimpling above the treatable area as we must avoid placement too superiorly so that it will not affect your smile. Find an experienced provider to do this. This lasts 3-4 months and must be repeated if you like it.
