One side of my mouth droops down. How can this be fixed?

The best recommendation would be to have a consultation to determine the best treatment. Botox can temporarily improve the symmetry. Dermal fillers can also be a treatment option. These are not permanent correction options for you.

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. The lack of pictures makes it hard to assess what exactly needs to be done. My best advise is to go see a certified plastic surgeon for an in person consultation to come up with the best course of treatment. Botox can very possibly but temporarily give you the results you long for. However you would have to repeat the treatments evert 3 to 4 months in order to maintain the desired effect. Depending on the assessment given during consultation, your surgeon may suggest derma fillers as well. Best Regards 

Hi, thank you for your question. I do not have an image to look at but Botox can be used in many cases to even a smile. There is a muscle (depressor anguli oris) at the corner of your mouth which is attached to the mandible. 4 to 5 units in this muscle can raise the corner of your mouth. Very subtle, but it works.Give it a try. Good luck!

Without seeing your face, this question cannot be accurately answered.  Sometimes Dermalfillers can be placed in the area to correct the problem.

This asymmetry can be addressed with treatment of the depressor anguli oris muscle with Botox.  Because botox typically lasts 3-4 months, you do require repeat treatments to maintain the results.  Adding fillers may result in more long-term results.  Consult with an experienced cosmetic physician.

Both neurotoxins like Botox and Dysport and dermal fillers like Restylane and Juvederm can be used to treat downturned corners of the mouth and to correct facial asymmetries. It's hard to tell which one would be better for you without evaluating you in person or seeing a photo. Neither solution is permanent with the results of Botox/Dysport lasting 3-4 months and dermal fillers last 9-12 months. 

Botox may help, but it is temporary.
It's hard to tell exactly the best surgical approach without seeing what your smile looks like, and in animation...

Without seeing a picture, it is unclear what you are calling droopy. Most people are really NOT symmetrical and some of the most attractive people will have a "crooked " smile to add to their charm.  You may find that Botox may give a lift to one side, but that will always be temporary because Botox ( and fillers ) are always temporary.  Hope this helps you,Beverly Johnson MD

Either Botox or Juvederm will help correct this asymmetry.  The Botox weakens the depressor muscle and the Juvederm pushes up the corner.   Try the Botox first.   My Best,  Dr Commons
