Once the callus has been shaved down, can it grow back?

Hi, I'm a 21 year old male from the UK, and have seen previous questions about dealing with Calluses on the nose after surgery. Many Surgeons have said that It can be filed down to make your nose look presentable, which is fantastic. But I was wondering If when you shave down the Callus or the scar tissue on your nose, however long it has been since your surgery. Can Calluses reform even though they have been shaven down before? Thanks for your question. Indeed, a small dorsal hump can return after it has been shaved down. Large dorsal humps are typically excised but smaller ones can be shaved down. Now, when you injure a bone of any kind it will form a callus to heal itself. Unfortunately on the dorsum sometimes these calluses remain large after the healing is done. This can usually be improved with massage during the healing process (the first six weeks following surgery) but it can be permanent. Frankly, it's quite annoying for the surgeon as well as the patient when that happens! I hope this helps. Good luck!

In my training, I was taught that there is little or even no callus formation after nasal fracture ( a membranous bone) and that the bones heal with a fibrous union. I was never taught about the healing after rasping.It may be that some callus or fibrous tissue forms, or more likely, that not enough dorsum had been removed.
