Thank you very much for your question. You may bring in a photo of a nose you find attractive as a communication tool with your surgeon. In many offices like ours, the use of 3D imaging software such as VECTRA photos are used to help patients and the physician work together to create the desired look for the nose after a surgical procedure. In your formal consult, your surgeon will be looking at all of your facial features to give you their best recommendations for what will work best with your unique facial properties and individual skin thickness of your nose.
It's great to bring a picture of the nose you like. A comprehensive consultation will allow the doctor to tell you what is possible and what is not possible. Many factor's come into play when trying to duplicate a nose. Since you don't show any pictures of what you would be seeking, it's impossible to answer that here, but bringing pictures is always a good idea. Good luck!
Dear sphewitt20When it comes to communicating with your doctor, using pictures and digital imaging are immensely helpful to make sure your doctor and you are on the same page and fully understand each other as far as your desired nose. Your surgeon can then share what he or she can do for your nose to approach the shape that you want. It is also helpful to see why the nose you want fits or does not fit your face.
Hello,Of course not. That is fantasy. Rhinoplasty is about improving the nose you have. Although great changes can be made to any nose, it would generally be wrong to assume that one can get any nose they want. Go on a few consults and see what is possible using the latest photographic morphing software.Best of luck!
Hello,I think bringing photographs with you to your consultation can be very useful. This will give your surgeon an idea of your goals. However, individual anatomy often determines what results can be obtained. I find digital imaging to be very helpful in demonstrating what is achievable. I hope that is helpful.
It can be helpful to bring pictures of noses you like to show your surgeon. This can give the surgeon a better idea of what you might be trying to achieve with your surgery. However, it is rarely possible to give someone the exact same nose as someone else. It is sometimes possible to change a nose to get characteristics of another nose, but since every nose is different, there can be limitations of what can be altered.
I feel it is OK to bring in photos of people whose noses you think are attractive. That gives me an idea of what you are looking for. On the other hand, no one can make your nose identical to someone else's photo. I have seen patients with very thick skin bring in a photo of someone with very thin skin. Some patients with a large wide nose bring in a photo of someone with a petite narrow nose. Those types of traits cannot be changed. We strive to optimize the appearance of the nose considering what your nose looks like now, and what you are hoping to accomplish with the surgery. Best Wishes, Dr. Kiener
A picture is a good reference for the results you'd like to expect however we are all structurally different and not every face or nose is the same. A general idea of what the nose will look like can be determined but no surgeon can determine the exact results that a person will have before having rhinoplasty surgery.
While it is possible to cosmetically improve the appearanceof your nose with an artistically performed rhinoplasty, if you fully expect toget a nose exactly like someone else, you will be disappointed in your finalresult. If any one promises that you can achieve that exact result, I would bewary.Keep in mind that following the advice from asurgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do basedon a limited two dimensional photo without examining you, physically feelingthe tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, anddiscussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in yourbest interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by theAmerican Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Societyfor Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that youtrust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with thatsurgeon in person.Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California
Pictures can be extremely helpful to your surgeon. I encourage my patients to bring photos to their consultation appointment or email them ahead of time. High quality photos from multiple angles will clearly express to your surgeon the outcome you desire. This is the starting point of an important conversation where the patient and the surgeon can get on the same page about the aesthetic goals. Your photos can help make it easier for the surgeon using a computer simulation program. Please bear in mind a great nose on someone else's face may not be a great nose on your face. It is more important to create a balanced and proportionate nose that is appropriate for your face.It sounds like you may have more questions. An examination and standardized photographs would help determine what is possible with your nose. I recommend consulting with a rhinoplasty specialist trained in facial plastic or general plastic surgery to help you reach your goals safely.
The cost of a rhinoplasty is directly determined by the amount of time it takes to perform the procedure in an operating room, the amount of time monitored by an anesthesiologist under general anesthesia, and the surgeons professional fee for performing the procedure in addition to all of the ...
It is unlikely that the trauma caused a serious injury, especially with no immediate bleeding. The cast does offer some protection. However, only your surgeon can precisely answer the question. I recommend contacting him/her as soon as possible to set up a follow-up appointment.Good luck!
Thank you for your inquiry and I am sorry for your current situation.I usually recommend my patients wait about 6 months before considering a revision to an alarplasty just because you want to give the nose enough time to completely heal.In terms of the cost, that is specific to each individual...
