Always struggled with my longer looking nose. Wanting more self confidence in my nose. Have wanted surgery for about five years. Two days before surgery pictures included. Surgery with Dr. Matheson in Knoxville, TN. Updated on 15 Oct 2018: My motivation is to have a more dainty feminine nose. I have struggled with the shape of my nose for a few years now. My surgery is tomorrow with Dr. Madison. Updated on 21 Oct 2018: No pain at all, haven’t even taken my pain meds the past day or so. Bruising and swelling mostly gone. Am concerned about my tip being too high. Any feedback is appreciated. Cast comes off tomorrow...
My daughter recommended Dr.Mathison to me originally for sinus issues. He is a very caring and skilled surgeon. He performed my second sinus surgery fixing the issues from my first surgery. It was the easiest recovery of any surgery I have ever had. He checked on me a few days post op before I even returned for my follow up visit. After several months I decided to have Botox treatment as well. Dr. Mathison answered all my questions and addressed my concerns prior to treatment. I was amazed at the results, I couldn't of expected anything better. I would rate my entire experience a 10/10. From his medical assistant, surgery, post op and then Botox. I will recommend Dr. Mathison to everyone.
Dr. Mathison is efficient, professional, thorough and all around fantastic. I requested Botox for the first time, he educated me then walked me through the entire procedure. The results were amazing, I immediately recommended him to someone else who had an equally impressive experience. I will continue to see him and him only.
Dr. Mathison did a wonderful job repairing facial damage from an accident. One can hardly tell I had surgery and I owe it all to him and his technique. He explained things so well and is easy to talk to.
I am currently four days post op after having upper blepharoplasty, septo/rhinoplasty, and a mini face-lift. I can't say how the results will turn out yet since I'm still recovering and quite swollen, but I have been very pleased with Dr. Mathison thus far. He spent more time than any other doctor (I interviewed three) reviewing my case and answering my many questions. He thoroughly analyzed my facial structure, history, and listened to my concerns. I broke my nose over 20 years ago and have had breathing difficulties since. I finally decided to do something about it, as well as "tweak" a few other things I didn't like while in the process. I'm glad I had someone who completed his residency in Otolaryngology as well as had advanced plastic surgery training through a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship under some of the best rhinoplasty surgeons in the nation, as he discovered while performing surgery that my nose was more complicated than initially anticipated. He was able to make the necessary adjustments and take the extra time necessary to make it right. After the surgeries, he called my husband and myself at home to ensure I was recovering well, and saw me in his office first thing the next two mornings to check on my progress. Dr. Mathison's demeanor is both friendly and professional. I am very analytical and a perfectionist and did my research to find a surgeon who also shares those traits. At this point it looks like my research is paying off. I have been very pleased with him and his staff. I feel like I found a hidden gem. He may not have the swanky office or a huge social media presence like some other plastic surgeons, but that wasn't near as important as being a great surgeon. I will follow up with pictures in a few months to show the outcome, but at this point I feel confident I will be pleased.
Nose was very deformed. Could not breath before surgery. Nasal opening was closing off.Everyone is amazed at the before and after look of my nose, see photos. I have told Dr. Mathison he could use my before and after photos on his site because I am so happy with the results. My nose had gotten so big my 2 granddaughters{8 and 10} were afraid to touch my face. Updated on 4 Jul 2015: Looks even better now. The redness and swelling is gone. My granddaughters love it. They love touching it. I sent Dr. Mathison a release to show others and to show on his web site (will be posted soon). I don't have the flare ups with the rosacea any more either.
Overall, my first experience with botox was a pleasant one. My primary concerns were early signs of aging noticeably around my forehead. Dr. C. Mathison discussed this area with me and the benefits I would see with my first treatment of Botox. After 3 days, I noticed a significant change in the amount of wrinkles on my forehead. Dr. C. Mathison informed me that my treatment should last approximately 3 months. I am now approaching 2 1/2 month post treatment and can confirm that my results are still as great as the 1st week with Botox.
Dr. Mathison did an amazing job on my botox! I have unfortunately spent way to much time in the sun and began to see signs of fine lines and wrinkles at age 30. Seven years later I felt I had the Grand Canyon on my forehead. Although only 24 hours out the results are amazing. I can not wait to see what I look like in a week! Updated on 21 Jun 2015: I couldn't be more pleased with my 1 week results! Dr. Mathison did an amazing job!!
With large recent weight loss and with normal process of aging, my lower face and neck looked older than i felt. I needed a "rejuvenation" and Dr. Clyde Mathison did a great job for me. People that didn't know I had a facelift kept telling me how great I looked, I looked "rested" and kept trying to decided if I had changed my hair, etc. Updated on 7 Jun 2015: Someone commented on how the 4 to 6 weeks post procedure may be the best time with just enough swelling on board to make results look good and then some laxity returns. However I wanted to post some more pre-op and some 15 months later (now) to see results now. ( I have however lost 10 to 15 pounds since surgery.) However pre procedure and post procedure even at 15 months show marked improvement.
As a young woman, it often bothered me that I developed what I considered to be premature wrinkling of my face. At the beginning of 2015, I finally decided to take action. After speaking with a few friends and colleagues about their experience with Botox injections and researching on my own, I decided to seek consultation from Dr. C. Mathison. During the office visit, Dr. Mathison took the time to fully explain the benefits of Botox injections as well as the risks, including the possibility that the injections wouldn't completely resolve my wrinkled skin. This alone was important to me and allowed me to see that Dr. Mathison truly considers his patients concerns/wishes and offers honest opinions and solutions without making promises about procedure outcomes. I'm completely satisfied with my results from this procedure and the confidence it has given me. I highly recommend Dr. Mathison to anyone seeking guidance with facial cosmetic procedures.
Based on your pictures, it appears that your Botox injections were placed mainly in the center portion of the brow. This can lead to a lowering of your inner eyebrows and a resulting "evil look." Additional Botox in the outer aspects of the brow can help balance things out. You can also wait until the Botox wears off, which usually takes approximately 3-4 months.Best of luck!
Most Over-The-Counter brands will suffice. They will all contain some type of preservative, but these have been shown to cause no issues after surgery. I recommend continuing your saline nasal spray for several weeks after surgery. When in doubt, ask your surgeon. They may want you to use it much, much longer.Best of luck!
Staph is a relatively common skin bacteria. However, recurring staph infections are nothing to gloss over. The Mommy Makeover is what concerns me. The blood supply to those surgical areas is not as robust as it is in the nose. As such, the body has a harder time fighting off infection. Your surgeon definitely needs to know about this issue. He/She may want you to see an infectious disease specialist or, at a minimum, change your intra-op and post-op antibiotics to ones that covers staph.
When one performs a facelift, it almost always involves some form of neck work. Usually the muscles are tightened and/or excess skin is removed. Based on your pictures, you don't need much work on your neck. However, I do agree with your cosmetic surgeon in that you will probably need neck work done in the future, and at that time a revision facelift will be necessary.Best of luck!
Botox, on average, lasts approximately 3-4 months. Unfortunately there is no way to speed up this process.Good luck!
