How long does it take for your incisions from mommy makeover take to completely heal?

After a mommy makeover the sutures will be removed at 10-14days. The incisions will be 90% healed after 1 month and the last few percent can take up to 1 year for the redness to completely dissipate. By large if you have 4- 6 weeks before a vacation or an important event you will be appropriately healed and able to enjoy your new look! 

Hello,You can expect your incisions to be well-closed around 3 weeks post op, provided that you have no issues healing. Ask your Plastic Surgeon to advise you about treating your scars throughout the first year as they gradually soften and fade.All the best

Most incisions are 75% healed by the end of one month. They're 90% healed by the end of two months. Full healing usually takes about 6 months.

Incisions generally need  a few weeks to heal after surgery, depending on your rate of recovery. However, they'll need months to strengthen and then more than a year to start fading.  All incisions first heal, then thicken/strengthen and then remodel/fade.

I appreciate your question.Everyone heals differently so varies from patient to patient.  By 12 -14 weeks you should be doing well.   Best to check with your surgeon as he/she is most familiar with how you are healing at this time and can give you a more definitive answer.

Incisions are generally healed to the point after six weeks that you can swim in a pool or the ocean and take a bath. You are also able to resume strenuous activities. Scars will continue to heal for the next six to twelve months and will fade over years.

If postoperative healing is uncomplicated most surgical incisions are healed to the extent that they will resist separation at approximately 3 weeks. The initial scar however continue to remodel and mature for up to 2 years. Remodeling or maturation refers to the process whereby collagen in the scar is broken down and replaced in a more orderly fashion. Consequently scars normally continue to improve in their appearance during this timeframe.
