The HCG diet is a low calorie diet. I would lose the weight via the diet and then wait a few months to stabilize and make sure your protein count is good for healing reasons.

It sounds like you are really committed to getting back into shape!I would recommend you see a responsible, reliable weight loss doctor (with an MD!) to evaluate weight loss options. HCG and oral medication like Phentermine may be part of the protocol, but should be properly chosen protocol which is monitored. If you are intending to lose weight it is best to do so before surgery.  You will want to be able to maintain your weight goal as well.  HCG is one diet option to help you on your journey.  Meeting with a dietician or nutrition coach can help if you need some guidance.  Good luck!

Weight loss is 90% what you eat. I've had many patients successfully lose weight and they will ALL tell you that it's your diet. There is no quick fix. There isn't a pill. It takes dedication to changing your eating lifestyle -- not a fad diet. Invest in meeting with a nutritionist or dietician instead of injections. You can do it -- it's tough though! Good luck. 

The best and most physiological method of weight loss is by natural means, diet and exercise. HCG injections have not been proven to result in weight los, because the diet often includes severe calorie restriction (which may be the real reason for weight loss). In addition, there may be some undesirable side effects from tis product. Limit your intake of junk food, processed food, and sugary drinks, do 30-45 minutes of aerobic exercise 5-6 days a week, and see what happens.

Best not to rely on HCG injections for sustained weight loss.  You are better served to change your lifestyle if at all possible.  

HCG injections do not guarantee that weight loss will occur. Some even gain weight with the injections. I do not recommend any of these injections near the time of surgery. The best way, still, to loose weight is with proper calorie-cutting, but healthy dieting and exercising. There are just no short cuts to loosing weight.

Hi ChrissyFirstly, HCG injections last I checked were not cleared by FDA, but that might have changed.  Regardless, you really need to have your weight stable prior to surgery.  I recommend diet and exercise supervised by a medical specialist who will totally evaluate and monitor you.It is important that your weight be stable because after surgery, weight fluctuations will adversely affect your results.You also want to be in top health.Se

The HCG diet when properly monitored results in rapid weight loss. If you use this diet beware that your pregnancy test will be positive for about 3 weeks. So, your pre op labs will show a false positive and the surgery will be postponed until the pregnancy test becomes negative. Be sure to stop the HCG injections in enough time to have a negative pregnancy test.
