It can take 1-2 weeks for burising and swelling to improve after lip fillers. If you did not bruise that is great! Best, Dr. Emer.
Generally, bruises can show up from the day of treatment to the third day. It will not likely show up after. Most apparent bruising you can see on the day of treatment, but it is possible for bruises to appear the day after treatment as well. To reduce the likelihood of bruising, try to avoid blood thinners such as NSAIDS, Advil or aspirin, and alcohol intake a few days prior to treatment. And ice thoroughly before/after treatment for 24-72 hours. You can continue to take arnica supplements orally/topically to help minimize or break down the appearance of a bruise.
Thank you for your question. Bruising after lipinjections often appears immediately or by the next day. To help reduce therisk of bruising avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDS (ibuprofen) for a week beforeyour injections. You can use ice on treated area after injections. Somepatients find Arnica supplements helpful for bruising. I recommend having aconsultation with an expert injector to address your concerns and determine thebest treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
Bruising with lip injections most often appears immediately or by the next day. There are helpful hints you can follow to minimize the occurrence and extent of bruising. Avoid aspirin, NSAIDS (ibuprofen, naproxen sodium, etc), and Vitamin E products for a week before injections. After injections you can use ice intermittently on the area. Some patients also find the use of Arnica supplements beneficial for bruising.
Thank you for your excellent question. Most bruising is apparent at the time of injection. In order to minimize the risk for bruising, I recommend that my patients avoid NSAIDS (Advil, Alleve, etc.), aspirins and fish oil for one week prior to a planned injection. After the procedure, I recommend that my patients avoid bending, heavy lifting and strenuous activities such as going the gym for 24 hours. Delayed bruising is rare but can occur for up to 72 hours after the procedure. Icing is beneficial for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Arnica is also beneficial for minimizing normal postprocedure bruising and swelling. Hope this helps and best wishes!
With most dermal filler injections, bruising is either apparent immediately after treatment or appears by the next day. It would be highly unusual for bruising to appear days after injection. In general, the risk and extent of bruising can be minimized by avoiding blood thinners prior to treatment, cold compressed during and after treatment, and avoidance of excessive blood pressure elevation after treatment.
Dear Nicolekinng:Thank you for your question. Yes you can still bruise on day 2 & 3 post injection. The bruising usually subsides within a week and you can use OTC arnica to help expedite the process. Best wishes.
Thanks for your question! It sounds like you had a very good injection. Bruising however can take a couple of days to become apparent as the blood rises to the surface. The lips are notoriously vascular so some bruising or swelling is normal. Good luck!
There is always a chance of bruising when a procedure involves needles. This chance is reduced with the use of cannules. Sometimes the bruises appear 24 to 48 hours after injections. LM
Lip augmentation is a procedure where filler is injected into the lips to increase volume and enhance the borders of the lips. Just by poking the lips with the needle causes swelling. Even with excellent technique, using blunt microcannula, there is always a risk of some bruising. Bruising will typically appear the day of your injection, but it may get darker in the first few days after your injection. Pain or a bruising pattern tracking up onto your cheek is not normal. Make sure you follow-up with your doctor so they can track your progress to a safe and happy result. Safety comes first.
Injections of Juvederm fillers is a noninvasive procedure with no side-effects other than swelling and maybe some bruising. Therefore, this has no effect on your ability to go on vacation and there won’t be any effect on the results of your injections. Enjoy your vacation -- hope this helps.
Dear MCscott:This can happen with fillers having high cohesively, such as Juvaderm ultra plus, and Restylane, especially when injected in large aliquots. It is less likely with Juvederm Ultra, but should not occur with injections of Belotero or Volbella. If they are troublesome, hya...
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry that your current results are causing you concern. Though we are not aware of the injection pattern used, swelling after filler placement into the lips is common due to the thin nature of the tissues. This swelling, and your res...
