Juvederm for lips. If I don't bruise the next day, will I bruise on day two or three?

Thank you for your question. Bruising after lip
injections often appears immediately or by the next day. To help reduce the
risk of bruising avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDS (ibuprofen) for a week before
your injections. You can use ice on treated area after injections. Some
patients find Arnica supplements helpful for bruising. I recommend having a

Thank you for your excellent question.  Most bruising is apparent at the time of injection.  In order to minimize the risk for bruising, I recommend that my patients avoid NSAIDS (Advil, Alleve, etc.), aspirins and fish oil for one week prior to a planned injection.  After the procedure, I recommend that my patients avoid bending, heavy lifting and strenuous activities such as going the gym for 24 hours.  Delayed bruising is rare but can occur for up to 72 hours after the procedure.  Icing is beneficial for up to 48 hours after the procedure.  Arnica is also beneficial for minimizing normal postprocedure bruising and swelling.  Hope this helps and best wishes!
