Should I get another weir excision to help decrease widening of nose? (Photo)

I’ve already gotten a weir excision done and I am OK with how the nose looks at repose and I noticed that it does look smaller. The problem is that when smiling the nostrils still widen out more than I would like. Based on the picture I’ve added Do you think getting another round of weir excision would be a good idea or not? Would getting a full rhinoplasty instead of just another excision help the appearance of the widening when smiling more than just getting another solo weir excision done?

A revision alarplasty would be a good option. The wide nostrils are making the nose look big. The tip is also bulbous. It can appear more bulbous after the nostrils are narrowed. So make sure to discuss that with your surgeon.RegardsDr. J

Hello and thank you for your question.  You appear to have a wide bulbous nasal tip.  Rather than just getting another Weir excision, I would recommend a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.
