Is it possible to have the skin of my stomach tightened and have the scar placed under the breasts where implant scarring would be? The only thing stopping me from a tummy tuck is the massive scar that accompanies it. My stomach isn't that bad. In fact, it's just the skin around my bellybutton that needs addressed. But if I'm getting my breasts done anyway, I was just wondering if that can be the only scar location. Thank you!!!
Answer: A reverse tummy-tuck has scars under the breasts and is done for issues above the belly button Thank you for your question. Reverse tummy tucks are often done when patients already have under-breasts incisions from a previous breast reduction or breast lift, yet can be done as a primary procedure. It addresses better the upper part of the abdomen, above and around the belly button. The scar does crosses the midline between the two breasts.Hope this helps!Dr. Marc DuPere

Answer: "Tummy tuck" where the scar is placed below breasts and not along the pubic hair line? What you are asking for is called a reverse tummy tuck. It is not the most common procedure, but there are definitely a few good indications for placing the scar along the inframammary crease line rather than within the pubic hair. The only way to know if you are a good candidate for the procedure is to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to be examined. Best of luck!

Answer: Reverse Abdominoplasty For some patients, lifting the abdominal skin works better than stretching it down. This reverse abdominoplasty is not nearly as powerful an operation as it's more conventional cousin. The scar is often limited and not a great option for those with a lot of excess skin or a loose abdominal wall. The scar can be hidden beneath the breasts and does not have to cross the midline. The scar is large however, and could be much larger than whatever breast scar you might have for breast surgery. It may result in distortion of the breast shape. On balance, I suggest that the procedure chosen by you and your surgeon should be based on your physical needs and expectations rather than trying to fit yourself into a particular technique.

Answer: Reverse Abdominoplasty This is a valuable technique in situations where a scar already exists across the lower pole of the breasts (e.g. after anchor-type breast reduction or lift). The scar is not limited to the scar from a breast augmentation, and can be quite conspicuous where it crosses the sternum. You may be a candidate for an RF skin tightening technique if the amount of excess skin is minimal. This would allow you to avoid a scar entirely. Be sure to consult with a surgeon who can offer all these options.

Answer: "Tummy tuck" where the scar is placed below breasts and not along the pubic hair line? Hi. Both procedures have completely different techniques and work in completely different areas of the body. The thightening of your wall rectus abdominal muscles implied a flap that is perform pulling excess skin down, no up, and dealing with more skin further below your belly button to obtain a flat abdomen. If pulling upwards it may enlarge the look of your pubis area, making it elongate.Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (International) Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
