Is tanned skin before a tummy tuck/lipo bad for scarring?

I’ll be down south a few weeks before my surgery. I’m Mediterranean and tan very quickly and easily even when wearing sun block. Will incisions to tanned skin have any bearing on healing and/or scarring?

Thank you for your question! Yes, patients with hyperthyroidism can have a tummy tuck procedure, however pre surgical clearances May be required, such as labs and a letter of clearance from your primary care provider. I hope this helps!

Thanks for your question. Drug testing is not a routine thing prior to surgery. If your surgeon for some reason believes that past history of drug abuse might affect your safety and your results, then perhaps that would be the reason. Personally, I've never done that.Best of Luck!
