Voluma is an excellent soft tissue filler for the midface. I would go to a qualified injector for the Voluma injections to the midface. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
Thank you for your question. Prices vary between clinics. Most importantly ensure you are visiting a reputable facility with expert injectors. Best,
the cost for Voluma is very close to the "under $500" charge you quote. Perhaps if the spa is associated with a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon who has a large volume of Allergan products (Botox, Juvederm, Latisse, breast implants, etc.), there can be "volume" discounts or price rebates, but this charge is so very close to the cost that perhaps this is a "too good to be true" scenario.Fake products exist, as Botox has seen many imitators, so I suppose it is possible to sell bogus Voluma. You should ask to see the box as the real item has bar codes and many packaging safeties built-in. But "fakes" are still possible. If the reputation of the medspa is good, and they have been in existence for a long period of time, this should give you some comfort that you are simply getting a "good deal." But, usually, your gut telling you this might be bogus is something I would listen to. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
Thank you for your question. At that price, I honestly don't know if you are getting the real product or not.You can check out the price of Voluma at other practices nearby and compare prices. Also, investigate the overall reputation of the Med Spa.It might be legitimate, maybe not. Do some homework.I hope this helps.
As with most purchases, the manufacturer cost varies by the volume of product that is purchased. At the $500 price point, the typical injector would be charging a very small markup over the cost of the product. With regard to whether you are receiving bona fide Voluma, you will need to decide whether this is an honest, ethical practice. Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
The cost of voluma to the physician is close to that amount so you should be cautious. Voluma requires advanced injection skill so it should only be performed by an experienced and expert physician injector. The cost of voluma varies widely and even in South Florida where I practice. The average price in the area is $1000/syringe. As a diamond level injector with Allergan, we can offer voluma for $750 for the first syringe of voluma, and two syringes of voluma for $1100.
The list price for Voluma is pretty close to that price. Which means they are either making VERY little off it in hopes that you will do other things, or it may not be legit. While quantity discounts do exist, even the very best Allergan pricing can't make that a profitable treatment for the injecting office. Usually I go with the plan that if something seems too good to be true, it just might be.... Remember that the product itself has zero idea what to do on its own. Your injector is key!
