I need to dissolve 3.5 syringes of voluma and 2 of juvederm. Will it ruin my skin?

went to top ps who put voluma on my face even where i didnt want. she put a little hyaluronidase on topcheeks (where i didn't want voluma) but not enough todissolve all. I also put it in the buccal area. ps says i dont have anything on top of cheeks but i do see padding. also when i smile i look likea chipmunk bc my wholeface puffs upso much top to bottom. i need to get rid of it but how do i know where it is exactly? i dont think she recorded it and dont trust her. scared i ruined my face

Thank you for your question. I would have that plastic surgeon dissolve it since she knows where she injected the Voluma. It's not good to use too much hyaluronidase especially an area where it doesn’t need it. I hope this helps!

Hyaluronidase effects differs from patient to patient and the injector. I would either go to the one who placed the filler of if you have lost confidence then to go to one with the most experience.

Dissolving both Voluma and Juvederm (hyaluronic acid based
fillers) with hyaluronidase generally will not affect the skin, unless a bruise
occurs.  Dissolution of these fillers
with the enzyme usually requires several treatments, since one treatment is usually
not enough to reverse the volumizing results of these fillers

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry that you did not achieve satisfactory results from your treatment.  While it may take several sessions of hyaluronidase treatment to achieve best outcomes, I do not believe that this will have untoward effects on your skin.  Your comment about not trusting your physician is extremely important.  If you do not trust your physician I believe you should terminate your relationship and seek another physician whom you do trust.  This situation may take some patience and persistence to work through.  Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. 3.5cc's of Vouma may require a few treatments of hyaluronidase to dissolve all the product. Hyaluronidase injections should not ruin your skin. That being said, it depends on injection technique and dosing. Please ensure you are comfortable with your injector. Best,

HA fillers can be easily reversed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase and this does not effect your normal skin.  I suggest given your unhappiness, please see someone who is an expert in facial rejuvenation.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Voluma is a fabulous product if injected properly.  Perhaps too much product was placed in the wrong areas by an inexperienced injector.  Volume is not meant to be placed in the buccal area.  Since you have had so much product injected the only recourse would be to have it dissolved with hyaluronidase.  Because Voluma is thicker than other fillers it may take two treatments to dissolve the product.  Please consult a board certified dermatologist with experience with facial fillers who can best help you.

The good news is that Volume disappears with time and it does not cause permanent change in patients in my experience.  The bad news may be that it might last 1-2 years before it goes away completely (though in most cases the early firmness and fullness disappeared in my patients after a few weeks).Hyaluronidase itself is not a very precise tool, although it is very useful and the only thing we have that will dissolve and "undo" HA products such as Voluma.  It's been shown that since Volume is a more cross-linked product than the regular HA injectables, it might take longer, and it might take more Hyaluronidase injections to dissolve it.Hopefully this is helpful.

Seek a consultation with an expert physician injector. Hyaluronidase works very nicely to dissolve both Voluma and Juvederm. Since the introduction of Voluma last year, I've seen many patients who had this very nice product injected improperly resulting in poor cosmetic results. These effects can be reversed with hyaluronidase and should not cause you any long lasting problems. Take it slow and these injections should be fully reversible.
