To achieve the robust volume that you are looking for, it may be best to use a hyaluronic acid filler with a thicker, more viscous consistency. A couple of examples that have already been mentioned here by other doctors include Juvederm Ultra Plus and Restylane. While the different HA products are all made with hyaluronic acid, they display different properties due to the nature of cross-linking between these molecules which is created through bio-engineering during the manufacturing process. A thicker filler is due to a greater extent of cross linking. Hyaluronic acid is able to hold a large number of water molecules for a seamless, hydrated and natural looking appearance. In your quest for the perfect lips, it is not only important to choose the right filler, but also an experienced provider who would be able to determine the amount of product to use as well as the correct injection points.
There are several fillers used to augment the lips. We like Restylane and Juvederm for lip injections. The wonderful thing about fillers is that you have the option to go slowly to help you achieve the look you want. You may want to begin with one syringe and then add more if you want more fullness. Keep in mind that swelling is common after lip injections and it can take up to two weeks for you to see your final result.
Most doctors will start with one-syringe to avoid overfilling. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO NovaThreads can also be used to improve shape and also provide lift. Fat or implants are a permanent alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. There is no best treatment but in my hands vollure or Restylane defyne give great volume. Best, Dr. Emer
Best lip filler is fat since it is permanent. Otherwise each of the products used have their own advantages/disadvantages which can be tailored to the individual.
Lyft is too thick. Restylane is best but it is still hard to work with and can leave lumps if the proper technique is not being used. These two products have by far the highest G prime. Voluma has a much, much lower G prime. That makes it too runny. Runny fillers also include the Juvederms, Belotero, and products like Restylane silk and Restylane Refyne. These runny products are highly popular with injectors because they fix the bumps the injectors make. However, they also do not hold and stay where they are placed. They tend to rapids shift away from the lip edge and into the white roll above the lip and beyond. This is precisely causes the lip shelf. Choose the right injector who chooses the right filler. I recommend that you start with no more than 1 ml of filler. You can always add volume. Too much is not sexy. You don't want the wax lip look.
Dear rachel1113,I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question and photos. The shape of your ideal lips is remarkably similar to your current lips. You just need volume with a very precise filler injection. There are several fillers that can be used that have been FDA approved for lip injections like Juvederm Ultra, Ultra Plus and Volbella. There are also fillers that I use off label in the lips at times. I suggest choosing an expert aesthetic physician who specializes in facial fillers for your consultation to discuss your goals for your lips. Best Regards, Dr. Bonakdar
Hello - thank you for the question and photos. You already have a great lip shape, so it wouldn't be too unrealistic to try to reach your goals with lip fillers. However, you may need 2-3 syringes at once for that very full look. I would suggest starting with 1 syringe of Juvederm Ultra Plus (the most plumping filler) to see how you like the result and you can always add more from there. Results of Juvederm Ultra Plus are typically around 6-9 months.Best of luck from Orange County!
There several different HA fillers that can be used in the lips. It also depends on the preferences of your injector and the look you want. I usually like to use Restylane Refyne for the lips. I start with 1 (1 mL) syringe for the lips. More can be added at followup visits until the patient gets the volume he/she is looking for.
Your question is an excellent one. Generally speaking Juvederm Ultra Plus is the best injection to achieve this size for your lips. It will take one to two syringes to achieve these results. Please consult an expert in cosmetic lip injections for the best results. Best, Dr. Green
