Is an overnight hospital stay for a tummy tuck since it is major surger, necessary?

In addition to the significant cost I am worried the pain level will be so high the next day after the anesthesia wears off I won't be able to get home without an ambulance, esp. since I plan on recovering on the 2nd floor of my house.
