Unfortunately, at 8 days out from surgery, your fat has not stabilized. You will continue to lose fat cells and swelling over the next few weeks. Thank you for your question. With Brazilian butt lift we transfer fat from one area of the body to the other. These fat cells are transferred in microinjections throughout multiple planes in the buttock tissue so that they can gain new blood supply and live in their new home, providing increased volume and shape to the buttocks. At this point you are likely seeing changes as a result of decreasing swelling.  After surgery there is a predictable swelling process that mostly resolves over two months, when the final result really settles in.  The fat that survives is there permanently. Around 70% of fat that is grafted is typically expected tosurvive long term. We also put a little extra to account for loss of fat post operative, which is reabsorbed gradually by the body.

Its too soon to know; it could be determined how much fat has survived at about the third month after surgery. For now, you have blood, edema and swelling and it isn´t yet possible to determine exactly how much fat you are going to lose, but surely you will lose more.

Technically fat volume loss occurs for 3-6 months after the surgery. If you lose weight after that point you can obviously lose even more. I find with my patients that the majority of the volume loss happens more so towards the 3 months, so I always tell them that what they have at the 3 month mark is very similar to what they will have for a final result. This is not what you want to hear, but you will lose a lot more of your volume. At 8 days you  have swelling from the trauma of the surgery adding to the volume  - that swelling will go down pretty rapidly over the next couple of weeks. 

The fat has not stabilized at this point. I would recommend waiting at least a few months for final results. You are still in early stages of healing and swelling is still present. In general, about 30% of the fat will not survive.

No, the fat has not stabilized. The fat will not stabilize until approximately three months or more after the procedure. It is best not to lose any weight, but maintain your weight, during this time until the fat has stabilized. The changes you are experiencing are due to a decrease in swelling, which is normal. Also, it is known that anywhere from 30 to 50% of the fat will not survive the fat transfer process and will resorb. The changes you are experiencing are normal. You should help your fat survival by avoiding any premature pressure on the buttocks for the first six weeks after fat transfer. Make sure you share your concerns and questions with your plastic surgeon. 

Thank you for your question.You are quite early in your recovery period so there is still swelling present. Over the next 4-6 months this swelling will start to resolve and your body will change. The size of your buttocks may reduce in size slightly when most of the swelling has resolved and the surviving fat has stabilized. At about 6 months is when you will start to see your final result. Hello, thanks for your question. It is too soon to determine final results, you should be patient and wait at least 3 to 6 months to see final results, remember that it only stays a 50% of the fat that has been injected, after a couple of months you will start seeing the results.
