Dr. Fernau sat with my husband and I and discussed all the options we had. We felt that he took his time answering our questions. All of the staff were beyond kind. I had liposuction of abdomen, flanks, and back. Had an augmentation and fat grafting to breasts. Would recommend 10/10
Dr Fernau and his staff have been absolutely wonderful! I came to him in a very desperate situation as I had experienced complications with a burn and subsequent problems with cortisone after a scar revision from a different doctor. I was looking for a doctor who was well versed in fat grafting. He ended up suggesting a less invasive route using laser procedures and filler. I have had laser procedures in the past; however, he REALLY knows what he is doing! My scar is BARELY noticeable now (and it only gets better each time). He is EXTREMELY skilled and also has wonderful bedside manner. Sheila, the nurse, has the warmest personality and made me feel so comfortable. Everyone in the front office is friendly and helpful. They have helped bring back my confidence, and I couldn't be more thankful that I found this practice!
Dr. Fernau’s work is absolutely amazing. My rhinoplasty results were more than I ever expected. The entire staff at the office is kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. They helped me understand all the questions that I had and treated me great. The complete procedure process was top notch from start to finish and I’m so glad I went through with the procedure. If you’re looking for amazing results, he’s your guy! I can’t thank everyone at the office enough for how much they did for me and helped me with.
I have been a patient of Dr Fernau’s for many years. I recently had liposuction of my hip rolls, thighs and stomach. My results are great!! I’m am now beach ready thanks to Dr Fernau! His staff is also amazing, very helpful and very informative. I am also seeing his Aesthetician Cindy for mirconeedling , and my skin has never looked better You will be very happy with the care this practice provides .
After researching plastic surgeons for breast augmentation for a few years I finally felt confident enough to get the procedure done with Dr.Fernau. I was worried that I would have a long recovery and not be able to do my physical job as a massage therapist but I was back to work less than a week later! I’m amazed at how my incisions healed so fast and just had my first laser session for the scar removal that is included with surgery. The doctor and nurses, especially Shelia and Amber, answer all my questions and talk to me about any service they offer. From breast augmentation to mole removal, Accent on Body will now be my only choice.
I had an amazing experience with Dr.Fernau and his staff at Accent on Body! Right from the start they all made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions with kindness. I’m very happy with my BBL results by Dr.Fernau and also my Secret RF treatment is done by his wonderful aesthetician Cindy. Thank you so much!
I was very nervous about having any type of surgery let alone plastic surgery. I researched several doctors and had 3 consults. I am so very pleased with my results and with the entire process. Dr. Fernau was amazing. He explained everything and took the time to answer my questions. He has an eye for detail and strives for perfection. Highly, highly recommend. I felt safe and secure with him as my surgeon.
It's been almost a year since I had my breast augmentation with Dr. Fernau and I love them! I went from a 32 b to a 32 d with 350cc silicone high profile gummy bear implants under the muscle. Awesome perk is laser scar removal is included in the surgery package! This was definitely a life changing decision and I'm glad I picked an experienced, safety oriented surgeon.
I have always had breathing problems. It wasn't something only I noticed - even school classmates commented. When I turned 30, I figured I still hopefully have 60 years of breathing left to do, so it is time to do something about it. I interviewed every doc in town and landed on Dr. Fernau because: 1) He is double boarded as both an ENT and as a plastic surgeon 2) His before/afters appealed to my aesthetic the most 3) He said during the consultation that his daughter had the same bumps on the side of her nose and I thought maybe he'll see a bit of his daughter on the table that day. In the end >2 years later, I am incredibly happy with my results both from a cosmetic and functional aspect. I can breathe now. I sleep with my mouth closed and my constantly bleeding/chapped lips are better. Getting sick is a breeze because I can actually blow the mucous out of my nose instead of every cold turning into a raging sinus infection. I am very happy with the appearance- it is still "my nose" but I just don't have any bad angles anymore. Throughout the entire experience with Dr. Fernau, I was treated with respect, kind consideration, and was never rushed out of just one more question with every member of his team. Two years ago the office scheduling practices were a mess, but I knew when I got back there, I would be the #1 priority so it was worthwhile. Billed to insurance was over $45k, but my total cost was about $15.7k once you paid all the bills, medications, etc. I would recommend Dr. Fernau to anyone considering a septo/rhinoplasty.
5 days until my surgery! My first consultation was in December of 2018 and we decided on subglandular gummy bear implants in order to achieve optimum lift. The implants won't be seen because I had a good "pinch test" and since they're gummy bear, there won't be any implant "rippling.' The exact size and profile is TBD because he will be using sizers on me during my surgery. Thinking somewhere between 350-415 ccs and moderate to moderate plus profile. Updated on 30 May 2019: 2 day post op update: Ok, so my instructions were to not look at my new boobs until Friday (which is killing me!) , But I need to leave the surgical bra on until my 3 day post op visit. I have help showering with a handheld showerhead from the waist down, making sure not to get the bra wet. I'm not moving too terribly much, but Im making sure to walk around or go on easy walks outside without moving my arms too much. So far, I'm feeling great. Dr. Fernau has a strict 2 week protocol that you follow before surgery (then also a protocol that you follow the night before surgery) and its amazing. During the surgery, I had no bleeding whatsoever. After my surgery, I experienced NO nausea....in fact, I ate at Panera only hours after I woke up from my surgery and although I ate on the lighter side (just to be safe), I had no discomfort whatsoever. I am only taking Tylenol and Motrin for pain...NO oxys. Dr Fernau makes sure you're in superhuman health before your surgery. I have a lot of energy since I'm good at taking my vitamins and protein shakes. As far as what I can feel through the bra, my boobs feel like they're going to look PERFECT. I will update with after photos as soon as I can! Also: the team did sizers during my surgery. They started out with the 420 cc moderate plus silicone sizers and decided that those were too big for me, and slowly worked their way down to seeing what less and less ccs looked like. They ended up going with 355cc moderate plus profile Sientra gummy bear implants, saying that the size looked really pretty. I can't wait to see them! Updated on 1 Jun 2019: They are def more symmetrical in rela life when I am just standing straight up and not holding my phone with one arm! I can't wait for them to soften up and "drop and fluff!" The nipples should also rise up a bit when the implant falls into it's pocket. Updated on 5 Jun 2019: I am now 8 days post op but these are my 5 days post op photos. Feeling great! Still retaining some water and I think that is because I have a lot of tissue trying to heal and this garment I have to wear just compresses all the fluid into my torso. But I only have to take 200mg of ibuprofen as needed now, not 600 mg every 6 hours. Every morning is less and less "tight" waking up. Nipples are super sensitive but I think I'm also starting my period soon (so glad that didn't happen last week HAHA!) Updated on 15 Jun 2019: Sorry I'm so behind! Here are my 2 week po photos! Can't wait to get the tape off. I feel like I can't really see the true distance between my nipple and inframammary fold which is something that really changes the breast view. Updated on 17 Jun 2019: Hi everyone! Doing well 20 days post op. Just thought I'd let everyone know a little of the frustrating things to expect post op and boost confidence for people: 1) The post surgical bra is super annoying to wear but honestly, results are better the more that you wear it. You should aim to wear it 24/7 esp the first 2 weeks. I switch to a really good sports bra for exercise (basically just doing my stationary bike right now for circulation and aerobic activity) so that I don't sweat in my post surgical bra. Also if I do go out to dinner, I have started to switch into a really good wireless bra for a few hours, but put my post op bra back on as soon as I get home. I have worn my post op bra to work (ugh) because I really want to heal correctly. Today, I might switch it up bc I'm almost 3 weeks out, but since I only work 5-9 (I'm a photographer) I might make another really supportive bra work. The main thing is that you don't want your implants to drop forward and down and sag, you want them to drop down against your chest so that they fluff the lower pole. While they're healing, they're in a critical period. The thing here is that it's super frustrating to get dressed. All my clothes still fit, but they just look different. Tight things look way better than they used to, but some of my favorite loose tops don't look as good anymore. I expected that none of my clothes would fit, but since I was insistent on not having huge implants, my clothing size/sports bra/bralette size didn't really change. My cup size definitely did change though. My goal wasn't really to have this crazy cleavage in a dress, it was yo look more proportional naked and have round boobs. I'm sure if someone didn't know me before my implants, they wouldn't know that I got them done. (I haven't told my PS yet but my steri strips did fall off and I replaced them carefully. Since my mom is a nurse, I know how to do it. The good thing is, the scar is barely even there. It looks like someone basically took a super super fine pen and lightly drew a single line on my skin. Everything is closed up and perfectly flat. Nothing is even raised at all. No redness, no pink....it honestly looks no bigger than a paper cut. I'm super impressed. I think it's a combination of the fact that my PS is really good and that I'm super healthy. I take a lot of vitamins, protein, and hydrolyzed collagen) 2) You will question the size of your implants and possibly have bouts of regret. This is normal. The first week, I was super bloated and my boobs were just really hard and I felt like they looked like torpedos. I felt really top heavy and honestly I just felt so fat. No worries, water retention will go down and the boobies will soften up. I knew that everything would be ok, but it's normal to get a little paranoid about it. Youll wonder if you went too small or too large. That's all normal. However, I told my PS that I would rather be in regret that the implants were too small and then get them redone in a couple years versus be upset that I went too big. I'm happy with the size. And honestly, I wear a size 2-4 in high waist jeans, a small in shirts (I have broad shoulders for my height), have small hips, and am only 5'2", so I feel as though anything much bigger than 355 ccs would feel weird on me... esp because I got used to having small boobs for 28 years. 3) I'm not used to people looking at my boobs. 4) I miss my small chest in a lot.of clothes. I feel as though small boobs are really cute and they look so feminine in dainty shirts and fluttery dresses. (Like I said though, tight or fitted things do look a lot better on me now). However, I def feel WORLDS better naked so no regrets. That's exactly what I wanted, to feel good naked. 5) Everyone is different. And no, not just body type, height, weight, proportions, age, starting boobs, etc...but everyone wants something different. Some people want really full breasts and to have tons of cleavage in their dresses or tons of upper pole fullness. I didn't really care about that. I just wanted naturally looking pretty breasts. Don't let anyone make you feel like what you want isnt what "you're supposed to want." I remember questioning that about myself a lot, that I should want what everyone else wants. No! Your body, get what you want. Some people my size would want much larger implants, 400 ccs or more. Go get it girl!! I know women who have gotten super small implants ...like 200cc and they've gotten criticism for it looking like "they didn't even do anything or why even bother if you're just getting 200cc" and well my defense for them is that obviously they didn't want it to look like they got implants, right? Duh. So people want that and some people want it to look like they got super nice implants. It's ALL 10/10 acceptable!! 6) Once you have them done, the idea of getting them revised to your perfect liking in a couple years all of the sudden becomes much less of a big deal to you than it was pre-op. Money, of course, is an issue for most of us. And honestly, what makes breast implants look 10/10 is confidence and personality!
Hello, and thanks for your question. Best practice is to ask the patient to smile and frown before injecting the botox, however it isn't necessarily wrong if it is not done. You may want to seek out another clinic if you feel uncomfortable going there. Best of luck to you! Hello, and thanks for your question. Botox works to paralyze the muscle which in turn can make the muscle shrink, but you may not see drastic results. You can try it out though-take before and after pictures and see if it worked. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon for best results. Best of luck to you! Hello, and thanks for your question. Sometimes botox can make it seem as though you've had a mini facelift-yes, although the results are not permanent and it may not be as effective as an actual facelift. Sometimes though, the best thing to do is try botox out first, which is not permanent, and see if you like the results-tell the doctor what you like and don't like and in the future you can always get a facelift if you need it. Try botox out first-and yes you can get it just around the edges of the face if you want. Go to an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon and ask his/her opinion. Best of luck to you! Hello, and thanks for your question. Unfortunately, you'll just have to wait out the 3-4 months. There isn't much else you can do-I don't believe massage would help but you can try it. Hello, and thanks for your question. You can just treat your frontalis without treating the glabella. If you feel the glabella need work still, you can always get it treated later.
