Is 50 units too much for glabella? 35 y/o female. (photos)

If you were using Dysport 50 units would be adequate but for Botox it is WAY too much for that region. I hope this has helped.

50 units of Botox would be way too much product for the glabella, I would suggest 15-20 units to produce a nice result. Kenneth Hughes MD 

Hello, 50 Units is very high for someone your age. We have dosing guidelines and for you, 25-35 would be considered a "Standard" dose. I also did a very large study looking at doses of Botox. Once you hit about 35 units, in most people, the effect doesn't change. Thank you for your question. For just the Glabella area alone the average dose is approximately 20-25 units of Botox. 50 units is more of an average multiple area treatment dose. I hope this helps. Best wishes. 

The average dosing is initially around 20-25, but can be as much as 60. It depends on the muscle strength, size, male or female and anticipated results (ie brow lifting or just 11 lines). I suggest you see a cosmetic dermatologist for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  If your injector was indeed offering Botox this is a bit high of dosing for just the area between your eyes.  She may have been using Dysport, another neuromodulator that is dosed 2.5:1 to Botox.  I would seek out multiple opinions from different injectors before pursuing treatment.  Hope this helps.

It seems to be high for treatment of the glabella area. Usually it ranges from 15-35 units depending on the person and the look wanted.Good luck!

She may have offered you Dysport which is another neuromodulator that is dosed 2.5:1 to Botox. I suggest seeking out more than one opinion from different injectors before having treatment. Please clarify with the provider if you are discussing dyport or botox - that will help decide the unit dosage. As noted below - 50 is ok for dysport but a bit high for botox.
