Newvera- you're not alone!! Many people get this unfortunate side effect from Botox. It stems from over weakening the forehead muscle in the wrong places. This allows your eye brow to fall which is the start of the eyelid.... so you get heavy eyelids- good Botox has the opposite effect. Hopefully it won't take a full 3mo for this to wear off but it could. You'll be back to normal in no time. If you get treatment again - communicate this to your injector or find a different injector who avoids this unwanted side effect!Hope this helps and God bless!Dr. Robb
Thank you for your question. Eyelid ptosis is a very rare complication of Botox. Unfortunately, there is nothing can really be done other than waiting till the Botox wears off. You can try Iopidine eye drops, this helps keep the eyelid open. You can expect to see improvement as soon as 4-6 weeks after injection, however it can take 3-4 months to completely resolve. I recommend making this known to injector so this can be avoided in the future and to determine the best treatment for you. Best of Luck!
