you have not posted photos, so answering the question would be impossible, but in general nonsurgical work on the nose is a good way in select cases to improve the shape temporarily without surgery.
Nonsurgical nose jobs using dermal fillers can do an excellent job of masking the appearance of a distracting dorsal hump. When your nose is straighter, it often also appears shorter. However, though adding fillers to your bridge would make your nose more symmetrical, it would also look wider, not narrower. You could get a terrific improvement with surgical rhinoplasty, which lasts a lifetime; fillers need to be redone every few months to a year. I’d suggest consulting with an excellent facial plastic surgeon about rhinoplasty. If he or she doesn’t convince you that surgery is your best option, you can try out a nonsurgical nose job first. However, I don’t think you’d be satisfied with it and would quickly move to rhinoplasty. I hope this helps.
Making the bridge higher can give the appearance of a thinner bridge with the use of fillers. However there are risks involved including occlusion of blood vessels from the filler leading to loss of skin and in rare cases blindness.RegardsDr. J
Thanks for your question. Small irregularities and asymmetries in the nose can be improved with fillers and one can either use permanent or temporary fillers. Among the permanent fillers are FDA approved, Bellafill ® or fat transfer (which, of course, comes from your own body). Fillers will rarely improve nasal obstruction or make the nose smaller. For a life long result, a rhinoplasty is still generally the gold standard. Recommend an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty to discuss your options.
Hello and thank you for your question. Nonsurgical injections can lessen the relative appearance of a dorsal hump, but will make your nose larger. You are a better candidate for a surgical rhinoplasty. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon canaccomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in yourlower nose. You may also benefit from a dorsal hump reduction. Makesure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patientswho have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computeranimation system. The most important aspect is to find asurgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with aqualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. A nonsurgical or liquid rhinoplasty can make a nose look smaller or narrower especially if there isn’t much height to the dorsum. The flatter the nasal dorsum is the wider it looks from the front view. The limitation to this technique however is that, at some point, building up the nasal dorsum becomes too much and the nose becomes too prominent on the profile view. It is hard to say based on 2D pictures, but it is likely you will have some benefit. The best part of liquid rhinoplasties is that it is a reversible procedure. If you’re unhappy with the appearance of nose afterwords, the filler that was placed can be dissolved.
No, in nonsurgical nose job will not give the appearance of a thinner nose. The injections are only temporary and make the nose bigger, not smaller! In our practice, we do not recommend non-surgical rhinoplasty for a variety of reasons since it is not FDA approved in the United States for that application, and can have significant complications such as skin necrosis. For many examples of surgical rhinoplasty to narrow a wide nose, please see the link and the video below
Dear thisonetimeinibiza, The answer is no. A non surgical nose job is a temporary injection of fillers that actually increases the size of the nose. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty surgery to refine your nose. I would suggest that you seek consultations with some experts in the field. Have imaging performed to show you the proposed changes rhinoplasty could provide for you. Review the surgeons before and after photographs to ensure the ability to attain your desired result. After the desired nose is agreed upon then the surgeon will discuss the techniques which will be used and also quote you a surgical fee. In the hands of an expert surgeon you should have a very remarkable result that will nicely balance your facial aesthetics. See examples of before and afters in the link below and the video. Hi ljones1393,Steri-strips usually do not stay long especially on oily/watery/sweaty areas. As long as the stitch has not been removed, falling off of the steri-strip should not have any effect on the result of your surgery.
The nose continues to change for at least the first year after surgery. This is due to swelling and scarring. The tip is usually the last location that swelling disappears, so it can look full or droopy until the edema (swelling) resolves. The internal scarring is what continues to change the...
There is nothing wrong with the profile of your nose and I wouldn't recommend a rhinoplasty to alter your nose profile which is close to perfect.
