I am 2 years post op and I believe that I have nerve damage in my buttocks due to when I sit down I get numbness and tingling and tension headaches. I’m wondering if this is something that can be repaired or would this be a permanent issue?
Answer: Numbness/tingling/nerve damage after a BBL Dear jaweber2, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Post op nerve pain Hello, thank you for your question. Nerves can get pushed around and stretched during surgery but unlikely it would have been cut during a BBL surgery considering no sharp objects are used. Sounds mostly superficial to the skin sensation. Nerves take time to adjust. I would speak to your plastic surgeon first to express your concern.

Answer: Buttock issues It is rare to get numbness from a BBL procedure. But not impossible. Numbness that only appears with sitting pressure is not permanent nerve damage but something else (not sure of the reason). A tension headache has nothing to do with your BBL procedure.

Answer: Nerve sensations with sitting When nerves have pressure put on them like if your legs are crossed patient often have loss of sensation. The added volume from a BBL can change the body in certain ways. I don’t think there’s any way to change how your nerves are functioning. Tension headaches would not be related to having had a previous BBL. Consider following up with your primary care doctor. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
