I had restylane defyne injected into my cheekbone area one day ago. I am now having an aching pain in this area that runs down to my jaw. The pain is not severe its just annoying. The other cheek does not have this pain but i noticed there is also less filler in the painless cheek. Is this normal? Is it just muscle pain? I have had filler before in other areas and never felt this
Answer: Normal It sounds like you may be experiencing a very common post after injection bruising and tenderness which will subside in 7-10 days. If anything I would call back your injector and let them know of whats going on. For the mean time icing and staying away from blood thinners will help speed the process.Dr. Anil Shah, MD FACS

Answer: Pain After Cheek Filler Injecting the cheek with filler can sometimes cause mild pain in the jawline area. This may be a result from either underlying bruising or hitting the nerve with the needle. The pain will subside. It is always important to follow up with an experienced injector to address your concerns.

Answer: Restylane Refyne: Pain Dear Jellybean1033, Thank you for your question. Soreness and slight pain may be possible after injection, especially if there is associated swelling and bruising and depending on how deeply the filler was injected. We recommend you contact your provider to let them know about your pain issues and to closely monitor them, as they may want to see you for re-evaluation to make sure you are still healing okay. Any significant pain with dark skin changes needs to be evaluated by a provider right away.

Answer: Cheek pain after Restylane Dfyne Restylane Defyne is an excellent filler for midface and cheeks. I usually inject this area with a canula to prevent or minimize bruising and pain. Deep bruising can sometimes cause pain. It should resolve with ice and time. Contact your provider if overlying redness or pain persists or worsens.

Answer: Is an aching pain in cheek normal after cheekbone dermal filler? Experiencing some discomfort or aching pain in the cheek area after cheekbone dermal filler injections can be normal, especially within the first few days following the procedure. This discomfort typically arises due to the injections themselves, as well as the natural response of the body to the filler material and the tissue adjustments that occur. However, if the pain is severe, persistent, or accompanied by other concerning symptoms such as swelling, redness, warmth, or signs of infection, it's important to contact your healthcare provider promptly. These symptoms could indicate complications such as an allergic reaction, infection, or improper placement of the filler. In general, mild to moderate discomfort after cheekbone dermal filler injections can often be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers, applying ice packs to the area to reduce swelling, and avoiding activities that may exacerbate the pain. It's also advisable to follow any specific post-procedure instructions provided by your healthcare provider, such as avoiding strenuous exercise, massaging the treated area, or applying certain skincare products. If you have any concerns or questions about the pain you're experiencing after cheekbone dermal filler injections, don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider for guidance and reassurance. They can evaluate your symptoms, provide appropriate recommendations, and address any potential issues to ensure a safe and successful outcome.
