I don't want to be perfectly symmetrical but I do want to have a balanced face, if there are other suggestions besides a rhinoplasty please let me know I will not be offended. Thanks
Answer: Facial symmetry There are actually 3 issues. The soft tissue (skin and fat), bone and the way you move the muscles. None of these are symmetric in you and working only on 1 or 2 issues might make you a bit more symmetric they will not make you significantly more symmetric. Sometimes a combined approach works best such as asymmetric facial implants and fat grafting to mask the asymmetry. I am sure if you see 5 surgeons you will bet 5 different ways to do this. I had a patient whose facial symmetry visibly improved by placing a different sized cheek implant in each cheek. I can't say if this is a viable option for you just looking at 2 photos. My response to your question/post does not represent formal medical advice or constitute a doctor patient relationship. You need to consult with i.e. personally see a board certified plastic surgeon in order to receive a formal evaluation and develop a doctor patient relationship in order to know if this assessment is valid.

Answer: Facial asymmetry Hi ronels,We all have some degree of facial asymmetry. It's a normal part of our facial features. The asymmetry becomes an issue when it is a distracting feature. In in your case, there are a few asymmetries, your chin, your eyes, and your nose. Straightening these areas would help improve your symmetry. Each of these can be improved. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Answer: Asymmetries A rhinoplasty will most definitely NOT improve symmetry in the rest of your face, including your smile. Yes, you have minor asymmetries of your face (as we all do) but they are absolutely within the norm. I think if you try and have these small asymmetries corrected, you run the risk of creating OTHER asymmetries which may be worse. Make sure you see a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in facial cosmetics before making any decisions, and remember- sometimes less is more! Best of luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty for crooked nose A rhinoplasty for a crooked nose and make the nose more symmetrical. It will have Nothing to do with the smile muscle, but the face will look more symmetrical only because the nose is more symmetrical. For many examples of crooked nose repair in our practice, please see the link and video below

Answer: Will straightening my nose with a rhinoplasty make my face more symmetrical and even out my smile? Hi, I have performed many Rhinoplasty Surgeies over the past 30 years and the simple answer is No. You nose is tilted slightly to the right because the entire left side of your face is higher than the right which creates the tilt. The left jaw line is also weaker that accentuates that appearance. You may want to add angularity to the cheeks, chin (I suspect the chin is weak on profile) and the mandibular angles that would make the face more ruggedly handsome. I would place more volume on the left side than the right when creating the angularity. This would have zero impact on your smile which is controlled by facial muscles innervated by branches of the facial nerve. Botox can be used to modify your smile by an experienced Botox injector who understands facial anatomy very well. Hope this helps.
