1 day post septorhinoplasty and my cast and nostrils are crooked. Any suggestions? (photos)

Question

I had septorhinoplasty yesterday. My nose was broken to straighten it however the cast is crooked just as my nose was, and my nostrils are uneven. Is this normal?Does this mean my nose will still be crooked and my nostrils will be this uneven. They were slightly uneven prior.

Hello,Unfortunately, the photos provided do not show a symmetric or straight bridge or tip. Now is the time to go back in and revise it, as it has been less than a week. This is something that should not be done in the office.  Best of luck.

You are early in your post op period, but it doesn't look promising that your surgeon straightened your nose. I would get an appointment ASAP and have your surgeon evaluate your nose. Sometimes very early after surgery before bone healing, the bones can be manipulated with a mild sedation to get them better aligned. Good luck!

First and foremost, I would recommend you speak to your surgeon about any concerns you have.  That being said, the nose after rhinoplasty will change over the next few months, so there needs to adequate time to pass before a "final" result is obtained.  Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only a day after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

You should discuss this with your surgeon.  The cast may have been applied to produce more pressure on one side of your nose during healing.  Swelling can also distort the appearance which may then be fine when the swelling settles.

Hi,I think it's best to see your surgeon to assess the situation. Yes it's possible that the bones have shifted since the procedure, but your nose may simply look crooked due to swelling, which is almost never symmetric. You must wait several months (at least 6) to see the final result. Most asymmetries will go away during this time period. Best of luck.
