Dear Doctors, I have a deviated septum and a droopy nose tip. I dislike my nose from the side very much but do like the front view. Is there any way to bring the tip of my nose up without lowering my bridge? What would you do with my nose? Thanks Lena
Answer: Tip rhinoplasty Dear Madda90 thank you for your question! I believe you are a great candidate for tip rhinoplasty. The procedure involves placing a strut on the columella and modifying the nasal cartilages.

Answer: Rhinoplasty I would recommend a combination of dorsal reduction with tip support and projection. You have a prominent dorsal septum that needs reduction for an optimum result.

Answer: Rotating Tip You can definitely rotate the tip of the nose without lowering the dorsum. That is achievable with a surgical rhinoplasty.

Answer: Elevating Tip of Nose To Give A Better Profile-plasty There are two basic ways to elevate the tip of the nose without changing the position of the bridge of the nose. One way to elevate the tip is surgically by using cartilage as an on-lay graft from the septum of the nose or the ear, by re-positioning the medial aspect of the lower lateral cartilage or by placing a graft in the columella. These techniques require a very well-trained Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. A simpler and more predictable technique is the use of hyaluronic acid fillers injected into the columella, the peri-pyriform area at the base of the nose, and a very small amount of filler injected directly into the tip of the nose. The configuration of the tip of your nose lends itself to an injectable tip graft which will give you a dip before the tip and will also give you a very aesthetic profile-pasty. Whichever technique you choose, be sure that your surgeon or your injector has a great deal of experience in these areas. Look at before and after pictures, talk to previous patients, and most of all, be sure you get a warm and fuzzy from the person you choose to give you tip-pasty projection.

Answer: Mild reduction of dorsum Based on these photos, it appears that mayor issue is slight prominence (hump) of cartilaginous part (lower 2/3 of your nose). Reduction of this portion of your dorsum would make tip to look more projected. Many plastic surgeons who perform rhinoplasty frequently, would have some form of 3D simulation software in their office, which will allow you to understand benefits of lowering dorsum vs. tip elevation. Good luck.

Answer: What would I do with your nose? What would I do with your nose? There is a overprojection of the dorsum of your nose above the area of the tip. if I had my way with your nose I would reduce that projection giving your nose a straight profile. this would not alter the appearance from the front.
