My doctor and I discussed my postop rhino and it was stressed that I wanted a scooped sloped nose. Unfortunately even when the cast was off my nose is completely STRAIGHT. I felt he was quick to dismiss me from my post op appointment. While my nose looks much better than before (dorsal hump removal) the slope is not there
Answer: Straight profile line right after rhinoplasty It looks like your surgery was quite recent. It is expected to have quite a bit of swelling to the area for many months after surgery which will temporarily obscure any bridge slope that was made. The important thing is that your end result has the desired bridge slope so you should give it time for the nose to heal fully.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Recovery Hi belawillo, Rhinoplasty surgery takes quite some time when it comes to recovery. The swelling that result post-operatively takes well over a year to completely resolve. That being said, you should begin to see your nose taking shape within 6-8 weeks. Some of your straight dorsum may simply be the edema. That being said, if you are unhappy with your results as you heal, undergoing a revision in order to further lower the dorsum and provide you with more a slope is reasonable and attainable. Hope that help. Best, Dr. Paquet

Answer: Early Postoperative Swelling It appears that your surgery was recent, and therefore it is far too early to assess your final results. Give it time, relay your concerns to your surgeon, and he or she can provide you with a realistic timeline of events to expect results.

Answer: Why is your nose straight when asked for a scooped nose? Hi, and thank you for your question. You don’t say how long ago you had your rhinoplasty, but from your photos I can see significant swelling and bruising, indicating it was recent. All the time there is swelling present, which can last for up to 6 months, it is impossible to ascertain what the outcome is. I would wait a few months before worrying that the procedure has not been a success. As for a straight or scooped nose, the decision depends on the communication between you and your surgeon and decisions made prior to your surgery. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Scooped nose Thanks for the great question! Based on the photo, you look to still be very early after surgery and you still have a TON of swelling. Your nose will continue to change shape for the next 1-5 years! I have a post on my instragram which demonstrates just how much the shape of the nose will continue to change. Give it more time for the swelling to go down as there might be a slope there somewhere. Best,~Dr. Sieber
