Like many females, my nose is my biggest insecurity. I am (yet another) girl in search of the "small, cute, upturned nose." I want the bridge area between my eyes to be slightly flatter, I want the broad tip reconstructed to be more upturned and cute and smaller (it seems my nose gets larger as you go down), and I want the bridge itself to make more of the upturned shape rather than a straight line down, if that makes sense.

Answer: Seeking "small, cute, upturned" nose, is it possible? The areas that you described and would like improved can be addressed with a natural appearing rhinoplasty performed by an expert artistic plastic surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience. Keep in mind, that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the proposed operative procedure with you and your parents may not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Rhinoplasty for a "cuter" nose You can certainly expect done improvement in definition while increasing the upward rotation slightly. I would highly recommend having computer morphing done prior to surgery to make sure you have realistic expectations. You will have some limitation from skin thickness, so this will need to be discussed specifically by your surgeon. I have been using closed rhinoplasty techniques that allow me to achieve what you are going for. Check my website for examples. Good luck!
