Looking at before and after photos, I find Juvederm Ultra Plus XC more natural looking and softer in cheeks than Voluma, which I find a little harsh. Why don’t injectors use Ultra more often?

Answer: Juvaderm Ultra Plus vs Voluma For cheek volumization, filler must have sufficient cohesivity to provide some lift. Both Voluma and Ultra Plus meet this criteria and can give beautiful results in the midface. Voluma may be preferred in some cases as it is a newer formulation and may provide longer lasting results. If you have a personal preference for Ultra Plus, it is certainly an appropriate choice. Adding volume to the cheeks is a great way to provide a subtle change to give the face a more youthful shape.Becky Hamilton, APRN at Garcia Facial Plastic Surgery
