I have Endometriosis and need a biopsy but I want to be sure the tumor is in fact that before my tummy tuck. The tumor is on my abdomen muscle wall and my surgeon says she can remove it if so

I would definitely recommend to figure out / confirm the etiology of this tumor before having the abdominoplasty even if that means delaying your surgery a few days. Depending on the cause of that tumor, your surgeon may be able to take care of it during the same surgery.

I would ask your surgeon what the mass might be. It could be something quite simple like a lipoma which is pretty easy to determine. In that case removing it at the same time as the tummy tuck makes sense.

I would assume that you are having a laparoscopic procedure, which pumps air into your abdomen to see the tumor in question.  I personally would not do a tummy tuck that soon after your biopsy.  Discuss with your plastic surgeon ASAP. Good luck, Jane.

Yes, an intra-abdominal biopsy can be performed prior to the day of the tummy tuck, I have even performed hysterectomies at the same time as the tummy tuck. However, postoperative discomfort increases considerably when surgeries are combined.
