What would happen to my breast fat transfer results if I get pregnant within 2 months of surgery?

in the case of pregnancy right after fat transfer, it is most likely that ir will affect your results. If you have any concerns, I suggest you discuss them with your plastic surgeon.

Following a fat transfer procedure, the transplanted fat cells will remain in their new location indefinitely. However, any significant fluctuations in your body weight could lead to a corresponding change in the overall volume of the transferred fat cells.

This can potentially impact the results of your breast fat transfer, but it's difficult to predict exactly how your body will respond to pregnancy because there are several factors at play such as the surgical technique of the specialist who performed surgery and the changes that the breast goes through with pregnancy and breastfeeding. As long as you do not lose weight, your fat grafts should be fine. Most women gain weight with pregnancy.

Unfortunately, no one knows what effect pregnancy will have on the transferred fat. The only good news is that the breasts do not change dramatically the first few months of pregnancy, so the fat should settle in and gain a permanent blood supply prior to major bodily changes.

Hi What I generally tell my patients is that after 6 months a final result will be more appreciable. Following this the behavior of the fat grafts will be the same as where they were taken from. If they were taken from an area that was stubborn or where you gained weight very quickly the same will happen in the location where they are grafted. So if you have had a previous pregnancy and gained weight in the areas where the fat grafts were harvested from your breast will likely get larger. It is unlikely becoming pregnant now will have any different affect on the results versus waiting to get pregnant.

At six weeks any fat that is alive is going to stay alive and any fat that is necrotic has no potential of being resuscitated. Your body is still in the process of breaking down, necrotic tissue and your results are not yet final. It’ll take 3 to 4 months from the date of surgery before your results are final. Pregnancy will not affect the outcome of the fat transfer, but will most likely change your breasts because pregnancy does that. If you choose to breast-feed them, this may add additional changes to your breast. Pregnancy related breast changes are usually stretched out skin with loss of volume in the upper half of the breast. Some women also develop ptosis or droopiness of the breast from pregnancies with the nipple position dropping down.
There’s no way to prevent these changes. Some women have more significant pregnancy related breast changes than others. Avoiding excessive weight gain during pregnancy is probably about the only thing women can do to prevent significant pregnancy related body changes.
